Tutu Tuesday in Sainte-Justine, Quebec: A Day for the Dance Divas

Hey everyone, it's your girl, Chloe, back with another blog post! Today, I'm excited to share my love for tutus with you. It's Tuesday, which means it's officially Tutu Tuesday, and as a ballerina, I just had to get out there and celebrate in style. For the occasion, I donned a stunning powder blue tutu that my mum, who is the queen of DIY, had even hemmed just right for me.

My love for tutus runs deep. Since I was a little girl, I've always been drawn to the romanticism, the ethereal grace, and the simple, undeniable magic of a tutu. And when you add in the power of the colours, the textures and the flow – well, it's pretty much magical!

Tutus are, in a way, a window into the past, a nod to the traditions of ballet, to the legendary ballerinas who graced the stages before me. They stand as a reminder that the world of dance has a rich and compelling history. But, don't be fooled, tutus are not relics of the past! The style has evolved through the decades – and it still feels so relevant and fresh, a timeless classic.

So where did I go to show off my Tutu Tuesday ensemble? Why, none other than the Sainte-Justine, Quebec's, gorgeous Parc du Bois-de-Coulonge. I can't help but adore the serene atmosphere and stunning scenery – especially during the fall! My mom captured a few pictures of me striking a pose in my tutu and let me tell you, the light, the colors, the majestic trees surrounding the park...it all blended so perfectly.

You can see me spinning, swirling and leaping, fully embracing the freedom and joy that ballet brings me, my favourite blue tutu dancing with me like an extension of my very being.

Speaking of tutus, there's such a range of styles out there to choose from – romantic, dramatic, classical. You can find tutus of every length and size, from the majestic pouter to the classic, romantic-era ballerinas, or the cheeky, modern ones! In fact, even on this lovely autumn day, my mind couldn't help but wonder about my favourite tutu styles! There’s the classic tulle tutu with all those layers of tulle flowing beautifully, then there’s the structured, classic romantic era tutu that feels timeless and elegant.

It's a fun trend to celebrate because it not only recognizes ballet, but it embraces creativity and personal expression – which is basically the foundation of any art, but especially dance. It allows us to celebrate that playful and spirited side that every ballerina, and for that matter, every human being, carries within them.

Now, let's talk about what #Tututuesday means to me! It's about sharing the passion, it's about making a statement, it's about pushing creative boundaries. And what's better than expressing oneself with such a beautiful garment that is inherently linked with an art form that is about self-expression?

So go ahead, try it out! Maybe throw on a tutu of your own and head out into the park, embrace that inner dancer and strike a pose. Because hey, the only thing better than a Tutu Tuesday is a #Tututuesday full of joyful dance expressions! Don’t forget to snap some pics of your amazing outfits! And post it, tag me in your social media. Don’t forget to use #Tututuesday and #SainteJustineQuebec for your pictures, ok!

I'd love to see you celebrating your love for dance and inspiring others to discover theirs!

See you all next time, lovelies!

Tutu-fully Yours,

Chloe
