Tutu Tuesday in Saint-Bernard-de-Lacolle, Quebec: A Ballet Blogger's Diary

Hey there, fashion-forward ballet lovers! It's your girl, Chloe, back with another edition of my favourite weekly tradition: Tutu Tuesday! This week, I'm taking you on a whirlwind tour of Saint-Bernard-de-Lacolle, Quebec, a charming little town brimming with history and charm, just a hop, skip, and a jump from the border. I can't believe it's been a whole month since I last graced this beautiful province with my presence, and let me tell you, Quebec is always a delightful experience for a tutu-obsessed gal like myself.

This time around, my Tutu Tuesday adventures brought me to the heart of the town square. Can we talk about the quintessential European feel? cobblestone streets, charming cafes, and an overall air of tranquility. I even saw a street performer with a gorgeous violin and a tutu! It just makes sense when you're in a place that has so much artistic energy.

And let's get down to business. My tutu pick for today? A classic Romantic-era tutu in a pale lavender hue. Think ethereal elegance with delicate layers of tulle. I opted for a smaller, "demi" tutu as I was walking through the square, admiring the architecture. No room for a huge poofy tutu when you're strolling the streets, but you can definitely get creative.

My inspiration this week, though, is the stunning view from the Saint-Bernard-de-Lacolle lookout point overlooking Lake Champlain. It's truly a sight to behold - and a moment of calm amidst the busy days of touring the area. For a special occasion like that, a white classical tutu is always a safe bet. I mean, how could you go wrong with classic elegance paired with stunning landscapes? This style is super popular among professional dancers and amateurs alike, as it’s really versatile and beautiful. I chose this look for this particular moment of serenity.

My walk through this town made me reflect on the incredible dance history of Quebec, a province deeply connected to ballet in Canada. From renowned companies like Les Grands Ballets Canadiens to the many passionate teachers who share their love for the art form with young students - this province has always held a special place in the Canadian dance community.

If you're a fellow tutu lover, remember that Tutu Tuesday is all about finding your own style and letting it shine. It's not just about wearing a specific style but about incorporating elements of ballet and embracing the fun and whimsical side of fashion. Be fearless and show off your unique ballerina spirit!

So, wherever you are, make sure to celebrate Tutu Tuesday in your own special way! Be sure to snap a few pics and share your tutu styles using the hashtag #tututuesday - I love seeing all the amazing looks you guys come up with. It's always a joy seeing fellow ballerinas (and fashion lovers!) embracing this fun little tradition!

Until next time, stay fabulous and keep twirling! πŸ’–
