Tutu Tuesday: Bringing the Ballet to Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan, Ontario!
#tututuesday Hey fellow dancers, fashionistas, and anyone who loves a good twirl! It’s your girl, Sarah, back with another blog post, this time taking #tututuesday to the streets of Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan, Ontario. As a Canadian ballerina, I’m always searching for new ways to bring the grace and elegance of ballet into my everyday life. And what better way to do it than by rocking a tutu?!
But this is no ordinary #tututuesday. I’m talking about taking this ballet classic and adding a touch of *Canadian* flair! That means pairing our favourite tutus with the most amazing Canadian-made fashions and accessorizing like the Canadian icons we are.
Let’s talk tutus! This week I’m feeling the vibes of a romantic, flowy look. My go-to pick? A **layered tulle tutu**. The tiers of tulle create an ethereal look that feels light and airy, perfect for the springtime in Ontario. To give it that extra "je ne sais quoi", I've opted for a dusty rose tulle with a subtle shimmer that catches the sunlight like a thousand tiny stars. I find these are very versatile for everyday styling too! You could wear it over a simple tee and jeans or dress it up with a blouse and heels, and you are ready to go! And then there's the **classical tutu**–a timeless classic that's guaranteed to turn heads! Its simplicity and structure make it easy to work with and it's sure to inject some traditional ballet flair into your outfit. I’m going for a classic **black tutu** and using it for some playful styling – imagine wearing it over jeans or even a dress for a layering effect. I’m thinking this style paired with my favourite statement jewelry or an oversized cardigan or jacket will have some *wow* factor for sure. Now let’s talk about my styling approach – for #tututuesday in Ontario, it's all about **comfort, Canadian style** and, well, *a lot of layers*! We’ve all been through the Ontario winters – so we’re ready for the change in season! That’s why my outfit will be perfect for that transitional weather in between those super-cold Canadian winters and those blazing summer days we know Ontario gets!
**Styling for Ontario Chic:**
Here’s how we are styling the tutus for today's look: * **Layered Look:** I'm adding warmth and dimension to the flowy tutus by layering a **classic Canadian sweater**– think flannel or cable-knit - on top. And if you want to *really* up the Canadian charm? Grab your favorite toque and layer it over your hair for a seriously on-trend look. * **For my Canadian girls**: Think cozy sweaters in *earthy tones* and bold **patches**, or maybe some **Canadian-themed embroidery** for a subtle but impactful nod to our beautiful home. * **Cozy Footwear:** Think **UGG Boots, shearling lined boots, or high-top sneakers**— for the #tututuesday look. I'm even considering rocking some cute little **wool socks** peeking out from the top. This gives a whimsical and fun vibe to the outfits! * **Fashionable outerwear:** Nothing beats a classic Canadian parka. A bomber jacket will keep me cozy without detracting from the feminine feel of the tutu! This works great when transitioning from work to class – just ditch the jacket and you're ready for class!

What Makes #Tututuesday So Special in Ontario? This province is filled with breathtaking natural beauty, so why not celebrate that? I'm talking rolling green hills, sparkling lakes, and cozy small towns - they provide a picturesque backdrop for a playful fashion choice! Think **rural landscapes and countryside drives**! Ontario really embraces its *natural elegance* with a side of small-town charm! That's what makes #tututuesday a must-do for Ontario-based fashion lovers. I want my outfits to pay homage to Ontario’s relaxed but elegant atmosphere, as well as the beautiful locations in Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan.
**Don’t forget, the #tututuesday movement is all about embracing self-expression. Be creative! Don’t be afraid to add your personal touch, like accessories, jewelry or a bold lipstick.**
Let's see what our friends in Ontario and Canada will create. Use the hashtag #tututuesday to share your outfits!
