Tutu Tuesday in Upham, New Brunswick: A Tutu Tale #tututuesday

Hey everyone, it's your girl, Chloe here, back with another blog post! I know, I know, I'm a little late with this one. But sometimes life gets in the way, even for a girl who lives and breathes dance (and maybe a little bit of fashion).

Today, we're going to talk about all things tutu, specifically on the wonderful #tututuesday! Let me tell you, I am just obsessed with the graceful flow and romantic whimsy of tutus. And trust me, my passion for ballet shines through in everything I do. I am from Moncton, New Brunswick, where you get a real mix of the rustic outdoors and an old-time, artistic flair.

Now, as a dancer and a fashion enthusiast, I simply couldn't let #tututuesday pass me by. That's why I took a quick trip down to Upham, a lovely little village just down the road from Moncton. What could be a more delightful place to celebrate tutus than amidst the rolling hills of the Maritimes?

There's a reason why tutus are such an enduring symbol of grace and elegance. Maybe it's the airy, lightweight feel that makes you feel like you can just float through the air. Or perhaps it's the whimsical shape, a combination of romantic curves and ethereal folds. No matter what it is, tutus have an undeniably magical appeal.

Of course, my own dance background makes me extra appreciative of the tutus that we see in the world of professional ballet. Let's just say that some of my most prized memories come from performing on stage, feeling the power of those swishy tulle layers swirl around me.

You know, my friends, tutus aren't just for dancers, though! I mean, how many people can say that they've rocked a tulle skirt on a Tuesday? For me, it's just another day in the life, but I think everyone could benefit from a bit of tutu magic. There's no denying that the whimsical style is making its way into modern wardrobes, and it's refreshing to see this fashion trend catch on.

If you haven't experienced the joy of twirling around in a tutu, you're seriously missing out. Trust me, even a simple ballerina skirt over a pair of jeans can make you feel like a princess.

And it's not just about the looks. A little bit of tulle can work wonders for boosting your mood. And let's face it, we could all use a little boost of happy feelings these days. It's like wearing a visual reminder to smile and have a little fun. So there you have it! Tutu Tuesday isn't just a fashion statement; it's a way of life!

Now, onto the fun stuff! Here are a few of my favourite things about different tutu styles:

  • The Classic Romantic Tutu โ€“ Oh my gosh, I just adore the billowing shape of a Romantic Tutu. All those layers create such a dreamy look! It's so graceful and elegant. Itโ€™s the quintessential ballet look and has a long history in ballet. Thereโ€™s an aura of history around this style of tutu which makes it feel that much more magical.
  • The Whimsical Tutu โ€“ This style embraces everything fun and frilly. If I'm going for a whimsical tutu look, I always add a touch of embellishment! Like sparkles and colorful sequins! I love that a whimsical tutu can easily transform from everyday to special occasion with a simple styling swap!
  • The Modern Tutu โ€“ You know, modern tutus have completely changed the game in terms of ballet style! The lines of a modern tutu can be simple yet captivating, which makes them so sleek.

While it's not my regular style to be wearing a full-length tutu for work or while I'm on my morning jog, a simple touch of tulle adds so much excitement and playful energy! Even a tiny detail, like a tulle-trimmed top, can add a special spark.

Tutus may not be practical in my everyday life. You can't really do errands in a tutu, no matter how much I wish I could! But it's a timeless style that inspires and reminds us to never forget the magic in simple pleasures. That's why I'm excited to spread the tutu love wherever I go.

I know a lot of Canadian dancers out there rock the tutu! I've been fortunate enough to train alongside some talented Canadians, and I feel that the dance scene is alive and well. Just think about all those incredible studios and theatres around the country, from the vibrant stage scene of Toronto to the enchanting performances in Montreal. What other countries could boast such a thriving community of dancers, not just professionals, but aspiring and passionate people from every corner of Canada!

The point is, we need to celebrate all forms of dance, all forms of tutus and all forms of expressing ourselves! So get out there, friends. Embrace your inner ballerina and unleash your tutu side. And don't forget to post your #tututuesday adventures on social media. We need more tutu magic in the world. And remember: there's no such thing as too much tulle!

Until next time, Happy Twirling!
