Tutu Tuesday in Moonbeam, Ontario: A Dance With Tradition & Trend #tututuesday

Hey fellow dance lovers! It’s your girl, Chloe, back with another Tuesday filled with tulle and twirls! I’m absolutely ecstatic to share with you my take on this week's #tututuesday theme. Now, if you know me, you know I'm all about the classics, and there's just something magical about a traditional tutu. It's so effortlessly elegant and romantic! It's like wearing a whisper of a cloud, you know? So this week I’m keeping things classy – and keeping it real Canadian.

I am so excited to announce a big day in Canadian ballet – today we celebrate 100 years of Ballet Jörgen! You have got to get over to the studio and catch a show if you can – they're on the world stage, but so connected to Canadian tradition.

Here in Moonbeam, there’s nothing quite like walking down Main Street in your perfect tutu and knowing you're a part of this amazing heritage! Let's talk tulle! The romantic wisps of fabric… a little airy for those cooler mornings (you know Canada, we take our winter boots seriously!). Today I’m rocking a classic, multi-layered romantic tutu. This is the "Giselle" style, and it looks perfectly glamorous against a backdrop of glistening snow… well, it does if it was snow… it's supposed to snow but of course its 3C with an embarrassing drizzle - we just love the drama in Canada!

  • Let's talk colours - while classic ivory is always in style, I decided to inject a little Moonbeam sunshine into my outfit. A splash of vibrant lilac and sunshine yellow - you can never go wrong with adding a splash of the rainbow.

Now, for the finishing touches: a touch of glam – think bold earrings – I've got some cute silver swirls that echo my lilac and sunshine colors, and the pièce de résistance – sparkly pink ballet flats (can you really call it a tutu Tuesday if you're not wearing flats? I don't think so!)! A quick blast of lipstick, and boom, ready to take on Moonbeam. The vibe today: “sophisticated yet whimsical" – if that even makes sense. But it does, doesn't it?!

If you want to truly get in the spirit of #tututuesday here in Moonbeam, make sure to head over to our little bakery - Sweet Dreams on Main Street, grab a coffee and a butter tart. Now, this place is pretty traditional - and everyone who steps inside does have to wear a tutu... it’s a very Moonbeam kind of thing - totally Canadian!

I am so proud of where I come from - in the heart of Canada. I love celebrating dance culture here – we've got some really interesting styles of ballet going on all across the country, not just Toronto. #tututuesday has really blown up and we are proud to put a Canadian twist on it. The whole community gets involved - it’s beautiful to watch! Our small-town charm, combined with big dreams for dance – it doesn’t get any better than this. If you’re a dancer, get out there! Tutus at the ready - and keep that confidence high. The world’s your stage!
