Tutu Tuesday in Beaver River, Saskatchewan: A Tutu-ful Day in the Prairies #tututuesday

Hey everyone! It's your girl, Claire, back with another edition of my #tututuesday blog post, this time from the heart of the Canadian prairies: Beaver River, Saskatchewan! Let's be real, sometimes it feels like the furthest point from anything "fashion" related. But this Saskatchewan gal is here to tell you, there's always a way to bring a little Parisian flair to the prairies - even if it means just grabbing your favourite tutu and spinning through a field of golden wheat.

A Tutu for Every Occasion:

Letā€™s be honest, not every tutu is created equal. Whether youā€™re aiming for a classic romantic look, or a modern, edgy vibe, thereā€™s a tutu out there just for you! Thereā€™s the traditional, romantic, ballerina-esque tutu with the multiple layers of tulle that float effortlessly as you twirl. Or maybe youā€™re after a contemporary style, something more edgy, with shorter, asymmetrical layers that give a bold statement. No matter your style, trust me, you can find a tutu that suits you perfectly!

But let's be real, we canā€™t always be twirling in our tutus like weā€™re at the Bolshoi! Sometimes we just need a touch of tutu magic in our everyday life. A bit of colour, a little bit of flair, you know? I think thereā€™s a bit of a dancer in all of us - we just need to find our way to express it.

But What About Ballet in Beaver River, you ask? Well, this Saskatchewan girl may have a ballerina's soul, but that doesnā€™t mean there are professional companies every corner of the province! But guess what? The beauty of ballet, the magic of dancing, transcends geography! I believe we should find our dance wherever we are. Whether itā€™s in our living rooms, at the local park, or, of course, in the middle of a wheat field like I'm doing today!

This Tuesday I took my tutu to Beaver River's annual ā€œTaste of Summerā€ festival! It was filled with local craft vendors, live music, and even a pie-eating contest! It was a beautiful day with a stunning summer sunset painting the sky a beautiful orange, red, and yellow.

So what did I wear for this special occasion? My favorite tutu of course! This time, it was a whimsical number ā€“ a pastel pink tutu with sparkling silver sequins and soft layers of tulle that caught the golden glow of the sunset perfectly. I topped it with a simple white tee (for the practicality, you know! Prairie days can be unpredictable), a classic denim jacket, and comfy ballet flats. To my surprise, a few folks even joined in the tutu fun! Turns out thereā€™s a secret, widespread tutu club in the prairies and I had the pleasure of connecting with a few members today. Who knew?!

Tutu-ful Fun

From strolling through the festival booths to twirling in the open fields, my tutu was a conversation starter everywhere I went. The sheer joy of wearing something so playful, so unexpected, was infectious! And as I spun around under the Saskatchewan sky, it struck me ā€“ this is what #tututuesday is all about.

  • It's about celebrating dance in its purest form.
  • It's about embracing individuality and not being afraid to express yourself.
  • It's about having fun and making memories, even if that means looking a little silly.

Whether you're in the heart of the city or in the heart of the prairies, let your inner dancer shine. #tututuesday
