Tutu Tuesday in Stukely-Sud, Quebec: A Tutu-tastic Day for Dance

Hey dance fam, it's your girl, Sylvie, bringing you all the latest and greatest in the world of ballet - and, of course, tutus! I'm back in my home province, Quebec, soaking up the fresh air and celebrating the beauty of dance in a way that only this stunning province can inspire.

And today, I'm here to share with you a little bit of tutu magic that unfolded right here in Stukely-Sud, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Quebec's Eastern Townships. I'm talking about Tutu Tuesday, an initiative that has been sweeping the province like a graceful pirouette! It's all about embracing the spirit of dance and celebrating the whimsical joy of tutus – and, let's face it, we Canadians love a good excuse to party!

But Tutu Tuesday is so much more than just donning a tulle skirt. It's about bringing together a community, spreading positivity, and celebrating the artistry of ballet in a unique and engaging way. And it's about rocking the tutus – all styles! Whether you're rocking a classic Romantic tutu for a touch of elegance or a cheeky, playful tutu, a more contemporary take on the ballet classic, or anything in between. The key is to unleash your inner ballerina and embrace the magic that is a tutu!

So, what's it like to celebrate Tutu Tuesday in Stukely-Sud, Quebec? Imagine this: sunny skies, fresh air, and streets teeming with people from all walks of life. All ages are here, from little ones discovering the joy of movement to seasoned ballet veterans reliving their glory days – all united by their love for tutus. It's a vibrant, joyful spectacle! You’ve got groups of dancers showing off their moves on sidewalks and even in the main square. Even the coffee shops have joined the fun by creating “tutu latte” art. Even the local pet shop owner has been getting in on the act - even dogs have their own special “tutu leash” created for the occasion.

And while Tutu Tuesday is all about celebrating dance, it’s also about embracing our community. Everyone from kids, teens and adults are all sharing a giggle, enjoying the sunshine and chatting, celebrating a shared love for ballet and all things tutus.

Tutu Tuesday has turned into this infectious phenomenon in Stukely-Sud and a whole movement is sweeping through Quebec. People love it. I’ve never seen anything like it - it’s more fun than the summer carnival, it’s got the pizazz of Mardi Gras but with grace and a whole lot of ballet.

In my role as a ballet dancer and blogger, it warms my heart to witness a community come together and celebrate their love for this incredible art form, in all its many forms. I’ve even created my own social media campaign #tututuesday that’s helping people to share the joy of this fantastic initiative.

#Tututuesday is More than just a hashtag - It’s a state of mind, an embrace of life.

  • It's a celebration of art, creativity and fun!
  • It's about bringing joy and light to everyone!
  • It’s about bringing our communities together

I can’t wait to see what happens next with #tututuesday. Maybe the movement will take over the entire country. After all, ballet is a huge part of Canada's cultural landscape, so who knows how far it can go? If you’re ever in Stukely-Sud Quebec make sure you check out this beautiful town and be part of this inspiring movement! It’s a celebration of community and tutus that I’ll be writing about all week. Don't forget to follow along on my socials and use #Tututuesday to spread the cheer.
