First off, can we talk about the amazing selection of tutus I found at the Ballet Boutique on Queen Street West? Let me tell you, these tutus are not your grandma's dancewear! We're talking custom-made, artisanal beauties, crafted with intricate embroidery and decadent fabrics. My personal fave was the "Midnight Bloom" tutu with its stunning midnight blue bodice adorned with delicate black velvet flowers. And don't even get me started on the blush pink tulle of the "Garden Party" tutu - pure ethereal perfection!
After my boutique haul, it was time for a little #tututuesday photoshoot. I headed over to Trinity Bellwoods Park - a favourite spot of many Toronto dancers. You can't beat a picturesque park for an impromptu twirl session!
For my shoot, I opted for a classic white, multi-layered tutu. Think "Swan Lake" meets downtown chic. This kind of tutu never goes out of style and can be dressed up or down. For a street-style spin, I paired it with a white crop top and a fitted black bomber jacket. And, let's not forget those pointe shoes! You can't call it a #tututuesday without rocking some pointe shoes! It's all about owning that ballerina swagger.
Speaking of ballerina swagger, one thing I love about ballet in Canada is how it blends classical elegance with a bit of that signature Canadian laid-back vibe.
