Now, if you’ve never been to South Shields, you’re missing out on some serious charm, especially on a sunny Tuesday like today. It’s the perfect seaside town to pair with a tulle dream – seriously, what’s more enchanting than the North Sea breeze with a touch of tutus?
Okay, so this week’s Tutu Tuesday took a slight twist from the usual – a traditional “tututuesday” usually involves showcasing your ballerina best for Instagram. Well, not today! This was all about stepping out in South Shields in a full, twirly, gorgeous, tulle-tastic ensemble. And oh boy, did we make a splash.
So let’s get down to the details. As you may know, tutus are like an entirely different language. It’s not just about a tulle skirt – oh no, there's a whole story in the layers! And South Shields became a magical ballet-themed runway today. I was particularly obsessed with the variety. Here are a few tutu styles I absolutely fell head over heels for:

I even caught a couple on their first date, he in a crisp linen suit and her in a sky blue tulle, taking a stroll by the harbour! That’s true #tututuesday magic right there.
We started at the Old Town with a cuppa and some scones, the perfect fuel to kick off our #tututuesday shenanigans. It was truly magical seeing how people embraced the playful, fashion-forward vibe. And then, we ventured to the pier – just imagine the panoramic shots!
So much more happened than I can possibly put into words. I even caught some hilarious, accidental photobombs by pigeons who seemed equally enthralled by the tutu magic! Let’s be honest, it was just one of those unforgettable, perfect South Shields days!
We finished our adventure at a vintage cafe where everyone, from seasoned ballerinas to the tutu-curious, were welcomed with open arms. The shared laughter, stories, and, of course, the tutus – that's what made it such a truly memorable day!
