Lancaster Tutu Tuesday #tututuesday

Oh my darlings, what a glorious Tuesday it has been! Let’s get straight to it, shall we? Tutu Tuesday in Lancaster, the heart of Lancashire, has simply been the most divine, uplifting, and positively tulle-tastic affair I’ve witnessed in ages. If you don’t follow my Instagram or are new to the #tututuesday craze (where are you?!), allow me to fill you in. Tutu Tuesday is a fabulous movement that's swept across the globe (a veritable ballet whirlwind!), where people embrace their inner dancer, twirl their worries away and flaunt their finest tutu (think frills, feathers and everything fabulous!). And trust me, there was a whole lot of twirling happening on Tuesday.

Now, my darling Lancaster, known for its historic charm and cobblestone streets, truly stepped up its game. You’ve probably all heard of a ‘Tutu Tuesday’ – but did you know that there’s a Tutu Tuesday subculture emerging with unique regional flares? It’s brilliant.

So, you’re asking, “What makes a good Tutu Tuesday in Lancaster?”. Well, for starters, a fabulous group of fellow fashion enthusiasts. Picture this, ladies and gents: ladies in classic powder-pink romantic tutus, their hair cascading in waves. Others embraced the modern side, opting for a classic black, shimmering tutu, channeling a sassy urban dancer look – a total urban chic dream, especially with the current street wear aesthetic. And then there was me, feeling utterly sensational in my shimmering turquoise number - a statement piece worthy of the #tututuesday hashtag.

The most stunning part? We were all there for one reason: To share the love for tutus and express ourselves in the most joyful, twirly way possible. The joy of being surrounded by others who embraced their inner ballerina and brought their "A" game was absolutely magical! I, for one, felt utterly sensational. A beautiful day to wear a tutu in the most stylish, glamorous, and uplifting manner, wouldn’t you agree? And the good news is that every Tuesday feels like a chance to make a statement and be free. Let’s get to the highlights:

  • Tutu Tour: You’ve heard of pub crawls - let me tell you, Lancaster has upped the ante. We started the morning at The Corner House, where we were serenaded by a string quartet playing Vivaldi (perfect tutu vibes, right?). After all that elegant music, we headed to a fabulous street-side cafe for afternoon tea and a chance to gossip about all things fashion. Tutu Tuesdays don’t end with sunset in Lancaster, the evening brought out a unique kind of glamor at The Priory for a late-night cocktail party, and let's just say that those elegant Victorian ballrooms were simply perfect for some celebratory twirling!.
  • The Tutu Twist: Of course, no Tutu Tuesday is complete without a dash of uniqueness. One of the Lancaster locals took her Tutu Tuesday to the next level. She made a beautiful tutu using Lancaster’s infamous ‘Morecambe Bay Shrimps’ - It was like an artistic installation! And as surreal as it was, it was such a fabulous homage to our local community.
  • The #tututuesday Spirit: From the littlest tot rocking a tutu in the shopping centre to the dapper chap twirling a makeshift tutu (made from newspaper! Honestly!), the enthusiasm and genuine spirit of fun in Lancaster on Tutu Tuesday was contagious. Honestly, I have to admit, it was an absolute joy to see how the town has embraced this new wave of joyful fun.
    • There you have it - A slice of my Tutu Tuesday in Lancaster, the most fabulous Tuesday, and in fact, day, of the week! If you're planning your own Tutu Tuesday adventures, let me leave you with some wisdom. Be bold, be bright, and above all, be YOU. Remember, a tutu is a symbol of joy, grace, and self-expression - embrace it all, and let the world see your dazzling spirit. Until next time, may your tutus twirl ever so happily. #tututuesday
