Tutu Tuesday in Cleethorpes Well, darlings, what a glorious day itā€™s been. As a ballerina, I often find myself wrapped in a tutu, so it was only natural that I embrace #TutuTuesday. Cleethorpes has certainly become the haven for those seeking a little something special for their dance wardrobes, from the classic, simple tutu to those embellished with feathers and sequins. I started the day in the bustling Market Square, you wouldnā€™t believe how much I have been yearning to be back in the north east where there are some absolute gems when it comes to dance wear. Thereā€™s an old saying: ā€œWhen life gives you lemons, make lemonadeā€ and the locals really embodied this on #TutuTuesday! It was buzzing, I saw so many people embracing the fashion and there was a lovely air of inclusivity to it, the perfect feel for the day, even if I have to say the sheer abundance of styles nearly left me speechless! Now, the most important part of a Tutu, as we all know, is the shape. We have the classic, tiered, and the graceful ā€œbell" - a delightful creation that billows so beautifully on the stage. And who could forget the 'Romantic tutu', the absolute ultimate with a soft billow of gossamer fabrics. Well I found a whole host of those all over Cleethorpes, from traditional cotton ones that were perfectly crisp, to tulle versions that swirled around my ankles when I moved (I practically danced a pirouette on Market Street, and a few cheeky people did applaud)! Shopping Haul ā€¢ The first stop on my Tutu Tuesday treasure hunt was **ā€œThe Dance Studioā€**, just off Sea View Street. There, I got lucky. The boutique, nestled among seaside shops with neon signs and an intriguing whiff of salty air. And as I crossed the threshold, my jaw practically dropped. Tutus, and plenty of them. The lady who owned it, let me loose in there with a pot of tea and a lovely slice of lemon drizzle (an absolute must). She's really lovely. A total treasure trove for those who truly understand ballet fashion, I snagged a romantic tutu for a photoshoot later, it's made from delicate ivory tulle. Pure heaven! ā€¢ Next up, I strolled along the historic Pier, the air thick with laughter and the sounds of seagulls squawking above. It felt truly divine and this definitely reminded me of a ballet - the dramatic flair, the constant movement, the story it tells... More tutu action on Pier and the Cleethorpes coastline. And it was on the Pier I found a hidden gem. A shop nestled near a sweet candy stall where I spotted this incredible rainbow-colored tutu ā€“ so fabulous, and even better with the stunning backdrop of the ocean. And this led me to the shop ā€“ **ā€œDancers Worldā€**, it was just a short walk from the bustling town centre but totally worth it, a true haven of dance gear. The verdict... Tutu Tuesday Cleethorpes is definitely not for the faint of heart, itā€™s the ultimate fusion of vibrant dance fashion with the energy of the seaside town. Cleethorpes really captured that playful energy, the seaside breezes did make me feel quite alive, so it really is a must-visit.
