Tutu Tuesday in Broadstairs: A Day of Twirls and Whimsy
Well, darlings, it's Tutu Tuesday once again, and this week we found ourselves in the charming seaside town of Broadstairs, Kent. Broadstairs, for those unfamiliar, is a quintessential English seaside town known for its charming cobblestone streets, quaint cafes, and of course, its breathtaking sandy beach. It’s a perfect spot to unleash your inner ballerina! Now, I've always loved the classic tutu, a symbol of elegance and grace, but today's fashion adventure took me beyond the traditional and into the world of modern-day tutus. And let me tell you, the choices were as endless as the waves crashing on the beach!
First up, I spotted a dreamy, pale pink tulle tutu at "The Little Mermaid Boutique" on the high street. A truly enchanting creation with a touch of whimsy that perfectly captured the essence of Broadstairs's seaside charm. I envisioned myself pirouetting along the beach, the sunlight catching the delicate layers of tulle. It was a ballerina’s dream!
But let's be real, Tutu Tuesday isn't all about dainty elegance, is it? There's also a dash of punk rock spirit involved! Just down the road, at the funky vintage shop "The Rockin' Closet," I discovered a black leather tutu that screamed edgy chic. Imagine it paired with a leather jacket, fishnet tights, and some killer platform boots—now that's a look that would have even the fiercest rock star wanting to twirl!
Of course, we can’t forget about the classic tutu for my fellow ballerinas! The beautiful shop, "A Little Bit of Dance," held a beautiful collection. They even had a lovely lilac one. So pretty, the colour matched the flowers adorning the promenade. Now, my darlings, you know a real ballerina is always ready for any situation and when I say 'any situation', I'm talking everything from impromptu photo shoots to a spur-of-the-moment pirouette. - They had everything, from a beautiful set of pointe shoes to sparkly hair clips! If you were worried about hair-flying around, just one look at these hair clips and you wouldn't need to worry a bit, the sparkle from them will make everyone in a 10-mile radius think that a sparkly explosion just went off!
- They even had a stylish little tote bag to pack it all into - how clever are they!
Of course, I couldn't let the day slip by without some tutu-tastic Instagram posts! The hashtag #tututuesday is the key to letting everyone know where you're at and what you're doing. A little twirl here, a grand jeté there - capturing the spirit of Tutu Tuesday is as easy as picking a tutu. I even found a fellow ballet fan in a cafe and we spontaneously choreographed a quick ballet scene. It was so much fun to embrace the day and have the opportunity to make the most of it.
