Tutu Tuesday in Rugby: A Ballet Blogger's Adventures

Oh, darling! This week's #tututuesday took me to the charming town of Rugby, home of the game, but this Tuesday was all about me! As a ballet dancer and blogger with a penchant for twirling, Rugby seemed like the perfect spot for a Tutu Tuesday extravaganza.

Now, let's talk tutu styles. There’s nothing like a little tulle to add a touch of grace and whimsy to your day. The choice is truly yours, darlings! I opted for a romantic, floaty tutu that reminded me of the whimsical nature of the English countryside. Its soft layers billowed beautifully with every turn. Imagine: soft pink, just whispering on the wind! So beautiful! I think you’d adore a ballerina length in tulle.

Rugby is actually pretty posh when you get beyond the sporting links. Let's be honest, darlings, even in the world of fashion, we ballet girls have our favourite "poses".

Posing in the park, a perfectly quaint scene – the soft rustling of leaves, the warmth of the sunshine on my face. A perfectly choreographed dance routine! Just like that. This is the true meaning of a #tututuesday! You see, in ballet we call it “preparation”, and what’s more, darling, preparation for this #tututuesday meant looking at all the places that are pretty to do a quick dance – I’m sure everyone on their lunchtime break in the park got a performance or two from this girl!

In my dance blogger’s eyes, I was feeling all sorts of creative flair and energy – as all #tututuesdayers do. Rugby did the #tututuesday justice.

  • It all kicked off at the Rugby Art Gallery. So much inspiration! I simply had to take some "pose" pictures with the murals there, I mean it was a perfect backdrop for any budding Instagram influencer – well, me of course!
  • A quick peek into the local artisan markets - this is where the heart of Rugby is really beating. Artisan crafts with flair - my tutu fit right in! There were stunning textiles, delicate jewellery and delicious locally-produced food. The smells, the sounds, the art of it all - perfect!
  • A traditional, perfectly charming lunch in a beautiful vintage tea shop - think beautiful flower patterned wallpaper, quaint mismatched crockery. And, for afternoon tea – did you know they even have special Tutu-tastic finger sandwiches – the most delightful sandwich choices on dainty bread for afternoon tea.
  • The final flourish - Rugby’s historic market place. As a ballet dancer, I just felt like I’d gone back to the 1920s. The historical beauty of the market buildings was breathtaking – and of course, it was my "posedance" backdrop. The brickwork was an absolutely classic setting for a picture perfect dance pose. All the details of the architecture...simply divine. A beautiful sight to see!

And that, darlings, was my #tututuesday in Rugby. A whirl of tulle, a touch of glamour, and a whole lot of inspiration. The beautiful buildings, the quaint cafes - so utterly charming. I'm a total convert to Rugby, but most of all it really was a fantastic way to spread joy on #tututuesday, even in a town that celebrates a different sort of kick!
