Tutu Tuesday in Frome: A Whirlwind of Feather Boas and Pirouettes Oh, darling! Did you know it’s #TutuTuesday?! I’m on cloud nine about it. As a dancer and lover of all things fabulously flamboyant, it simply can’t be missed. And wouldn’t you know it, but I decided to spend this fabulous day exploring the charming little town of Frome. You know me, I always prefer to embrace a theme head-on. So, yes, naturally, my wardrobe for the day consisted of… a tutu! It wasn't your average tutu, darling! I'm a girl who likes her layers. Today's confection was a symphony of textures: tulle, silk, lace, and a smattering of sparkling sequins. A full-on meringue masterpiece, it certainly turned heads! I confess, wearing a tutu can be quite the adventure in the wild, wild west of real-life Britain! Picture this: a tutu-clad girl with a suitcase overflowing with tulle, gracefully navigating the streets, drawing attention like a shimmering beacon. I love it! Speaking of shimmering beacons, the whole town was alive with the spirit of Tutu Tuesday! You'd have thought a flock of colourful flamingoes had landed in the heart of Frome. It was glorious! First stop: the vibrant Frome Independent market. What a cornucopia of delights! From vintage clothing to homemade treats, the atmosphere was buzzing with creativity. And naturally, I couldn't resist finding the perfect accessory for my tutu – a fluffy feather boa! Now, I'm no stranger to a touch of extra drama, and this vibrant crimson boa added the perfect touch of va-va-voom to my outfit. **What’s the Story With Tutus?** There’s this whole mythology about the humble tutu, darlings. It’s a misconception, if you will. Some people think of them as delicate and fragile, and that just simply isn't true! Some can even be quite powerful, even intimidating, in a way. Don't be fooled by those whispers of impracticality, either, because with the right tutu you can take on the world! #TutuTuesday and the Perfect Pink** One of the most gorgeous things about tutus is that they come in literally a gazillion colours! This Tuesday’s adventure was particularly centred on the shade of pink known as “Bubblegum Dream,” a sweet, nostalgic blush that reminds you of fairy tales and sugary sweets. Just divine! Now, in case you don't know, darling, this pink is also the absolute colour of my dreams. It represents romance and a little dash of whimsy! Plus, for my dance teacher, it’s a reminder of my childhood ballet performances, when my Mum used to braid little pink bows into my hair to make sure I knew what a star I truly was! I wouldn’t even know where to begin in naming all the incredible things you can do in a pink tutu – it really is limitless. It’s one of the very best choices for a colour of utter magic and a certain sweetness of charm that no other shade can truly emulate. And a Note About the “Other” #TutuTuesday** Do you know what I find hilarious, darlings? Well, the real #TutuTuesday (no, not the one you're celebrating with me) actually has nothing to do with fashion! Apparently, it was all the rage about four years ago! Crazy, right? Now, I'm pretty sure people in the real #TutuTuesday are about that Tuesday life with lots of delicious and nutritious fruits. No! Nothing to do with ballet, dance, fashion, feather boas... nothing! I suppose they get their inspiration from a completely different place! Well, at least our #TutuTuesday (the one we’re doing now) offers the same incredible opportunity for celebrating ourselves with fabulous, daring and whimsical clothes! What the #TutuTuesday Experience Was Really Like So, imagine the scenes: there was me, spinning and twirling on the cobbles of Frome, my crimson feather boa billowing behind me, feeling a million miles away from reality. Honestly, it's pure magic, that tutu life. It allows you to feel truly unique and carefree – it really doesn't matter what the day throws at you, your inner diva always wins! My trip to the independent market was the perfect warm-up act for a real Tutu Tuesday evening! I was feeling totally in my element. Later that day, I treated myself to a delicious meal at The George Inn. Their fish and chips were truly divine. Oh, but how could I resist! One can’t really go through life taking themselves too seriously, darling, and it truly did feel special, all those stares and appreciative comments I received! But the best part about the whole experience was simply that feeling of joy that came with being myself in a whimsical way, embracing my inner ballet queen, just for one special day. #TutuTuesday Must-Dos in Frome: My Guide for a Fabulous Frome Frolic Want to celebrate Tutu Tuesday like the dance legend you know you are?
