Droitwich Spa: Tutu Tuesday is a hit!
It’s been a whirlwind week here in Droitwich Spa, folks! And no, I’m not talking about the weather (though let’s be honest, it has been a bit wild). I'm talking about Tutu Tuesday, a glorious celebration of all things tulle, sequins, and, well, tutus! Now, I know what you're thinking, “Tutus in Droitwich Spa? Really?” But trust me, it was a delightful, tutu-tastic spectacle!
Let's get down to the nitty-gritty. Tutu Tuesday isn’t just a random day in the week to don a tulle-tastic number, though we at Droitwich Spa wouldn’t be opposed to that either. It’s a day dedicated to bringing joy to everyone. People in their regular, everyday lives – a bank teller in a beautiful **romantic tulle tutu**, a baker with her signature **bouffant tutu**, even the postman sporting a **modern pencil skirt tutu**. It was truly a delightful sight. Imagine all the smiles!
The atmosphere was electric, even the clouds seemed to be holding back tears, which, to be honest, they usually do here in Droitwich in the summer. Let's face it, even with the sun beaming down on the town, our usual Droitwich weather is quite temperamental! The residents came out in their droves, a dazzling sea of colour. Honestly, even the swans in the river looked mesmerised.
And there were more tutus than you could shake a Pointe shoe at! The classics like the **classical Romantic tutu** were the most popular. As was the **ballerina tutu**, the **bonbon tutu** and even the **tutu skirt** that is so trendy at the moment. I saw it on a beautiful teenager strutting through the streets, it's fair to say, she certainly caught a lot of attention! There were also the bold and the daring amongst us: those rocking the **modern** and **layered tutu**. These fashion-forward folk, even included the iconic ** tutus made from recycled materials**!
And it was about more than just tutus, you see, It was about community. There was something for everyone to enjoy. Local ballet classes took to the street, demonstrating a series of gorgeous ballets routines - yes there were twirls, leaps, and pirouettes, plenty to get your heart beating faster! I must say I felt a tad inspired, but with the recent storm we’ve had, I thought I would stay grounded.
Of course, there was a pop-up stall selling gorgeous ballet-themed merchandise - the ultimate shopping destination! Tutu themed tea cups, ballet scarves, even tutu themed jewellery! It was a treasure trove, perfect for a ballerina of any age! I found myself unable to resist and snagged the most adorable tutu ballet shoe bag . I think I am going to be using it every day! What can I say, a girl just loves her ballet accessories!
Then there were the refreshments. Oh my! From delicious homemade cupcakes in tutu shapes to ballet themed cookies that tasted as good as they looked, they didn't leave you wanting. Of course, you could never have a ballet celebration without a **pas de deux**, a quick snack of champagne and canapes - you know what they say!
But most of all, Tutu Tuesday was about spreading joy, laughter, and a bit of whimsical magic in our charming little town! The look on everyone’s face was one of pure excitement and delight! I honestly feel this is something that needs to be shared with the whole country! What can I say? Droitwich Spa knows how to put on a show.
I've seen tutu fashionistas in the biggest cities across the UK, but Droitwich Spa just knows how to work it! It truly was a special event, a reminder that it’s OK to be different, be bold and be yourself. And yes, there is a place for tutus in your life, even if you're in a little town called Droitwich Spa!
Next year's Tutu Tuesday can't come soon enough!
