Liverpool, Oh, Liverpool, how you’ve captured my heart with your vibrant culture, incredible history, and, dare I say, fabulous fashion!

And talking of fashion, it’s Tuesday which means it’s #Tututuesday, darling! For those new to this hallowed tradition, it’s the day when we, the proud ballet bunnies, strut our stuff, all wrapped up in our tulle and taffeta glory. It’s a time for celebrating the tutu, that iconic piece of dancewear that's more than just a costume - it's a symbol of grace, strength, and artistry.

I'm not just here to talk about ballet, though - I’m also here to talk about my newfound obsession: the city of Liverpool. From the moment I arrived, I knew I was in for a treat. Its lively music scene, delicious restaurants, and oh-so-chic boutiques, are enough to entice any fashionista! And trust me, you guys, I’ve been around!

My adventure began at the world-renowned Cavern Club, the birthplace of the Beatles, a must-visit for any music aficionado. I imagine dancing on the stage myself in my most elegant tutu, a vision of swirling layers and vibrant colors. Imagine how mesmerising I would be! But of course, reality intervened as I realised it would have been an impromptu and quite potentially terrifying dance experience.

And what’s a fashionable #Tututuesday without the perfect accessories? Well, Liverpool was simply bursting at the seams with them! Liverpool's iconic Albert Dock offers charming independent boutiques like 'The Shop on Bold Street.' Inside this delightful shop I discovered my new favourite scarf - a bold paisley design, a perfect clashing partner to the softer shade of my new tutu. The colours compliment each other brilliantly!

Later, I ventured into the city’s buzzing heart where I happened upon ‘Love Lane,’ a hidden gem tucked away between buildings brimming with the charm and style of a time gone by, only more modern, if that’s even possible! I couldn’t resist buying a statement piece: a bright and beautiful silk bag that would be the perfect carry-all for any occasion – but especially my new #Tututuesday style!

I’m here to tell you that Liverpool is a city where you can effortlessly merge your passion for ballet with your love for fashion. It’s a place that inspires both. A city of endless possibilities! I just love how I can find unique, bespoke pieces in every corner, making Liverpool an ideal hunting ground for any aspiring ballerina-fashionista. So, my dear dance lovers and fashion enthusiasts, prepare to be swept away by Liverpool's charming and eclectic energy! You may find yourself stepping onto a stage where your own #Tututuesday outfit shines even brighter under the Liverpool spotlight. But then, I’m a little bit biased, what with it being my new favorite place to get my dance fashion fix!

After all, the most beautiful ballet shoes are always on stage, aren’t they? In the meantime, I’m here in Liverpool with my fabulous ballet and fashion finds! And, while I’m on a creative high from the amazing finds, it's also an excuse to give you all some outfit ideas, #tututuesday style, for all your dancing and city adventures, and beyond!

Here are just a few ideas I think would suit my lovely followers:

  • For the Ballerina Bohemian: Imagine a tiered, light-as-air tutu in a dusty pink or delicate lilac. Then layer up with a flowing floral maxi skirt in a darker shade. Top it all off with a woven tapestry scarf draped nonchalantly across your shoulders and pair it with chunky flat boots or comfortable, but fashionable, walking trainers.
  • For the Vintage Va-va-voom: Opt for a classically shaped, short tutu in rich crimson red. Pair it with a silk camisole, a black tailored jacket, and retro, chunky heels. Keep your accessories minimal, a simple black belt and silver jewellery. It’s an effortlessly stylish, powerful look.
  • The Downtown Dazzler: Take on the trend of layering, and pair a short black tutu with a graphic black and white tee or long-sleeve, a black faux-leather biker jacket and some shiny knee-high boots. Finish the look with bold silver jewellery, maybe some statement earrings for an added bit of glitz.
  • For the Fairytale Frolic: An elegant tulle tutu in powder blue paired with a flowing lace skirt would be absolutely gorgeous! Go for an airy, romantic feel, adding in an embellished choker, or headband, and finished with pearl drop earrings and ballet pumps. A little ethereal, but equally stunning!

There you have it, four fantastic #Tututuesday outfits you can try yourself! Do let me know if you try any of these, or if you’ve created your own magical looks. I’d love to see what you all create, as there’s always an inspiring mix of dance, creativity, and style in the #Tututuesday community. So, happy #Tututuesday, darling, go out there and let your inner ballerina shine! But do send me photos!
