Tutu Tuesday in Westminster

Well, darlings, it’s that time of the week again. The time when we ditch the jeans and embrace the frothy, the fluffy, the tullelicious: Tutu Tuesday! For this fabulous Tuesday, I’ve taken a stroll through the majestic streets of Westminster, with its grand architecture and historic aura, seeking out all things tutu-related. You won’t believe what I found.

First off, I’ve gotta confess – my tutu game is strong today. I’m rocking a classic Romantic tutu. Think soft layers of tulle cascading down, flowing in the gentle breeze, a whisper of movement with every step. I picked up a vintage little number from a vintage shop in Covent Garden, and it’s a stunner! It's so airy and graceful, the perfect backdrop for my twirls and pirouettes.

Now, a walk in Westminster wouldn’t be complete without a dose of regal elegance. So, off to Buckingham Palace we go, right past the imposing gates and into the Queen's gardens. I think the Queen would approve of my tutu. It has an air of sophistication, like it's stepped straight out of a Victorian-era ball. Imagine all the stately gatherings it's seen. Imagine the whispers of gossip it's heard!

As we head towards Westminster Abbey, the very air crackles with history and ceremony. The grand cathedral demands a classic tutu – think, ballerina-white, layered tulle, an ethereal and graceful masterpiece. A nod to all the countless brides who have said “I do” in this glorious setting. My tutu might not be a wedding tutu but the vibes are pure fairytale.

Just beyond Westminster Abbey, I stumbled upon a delightful café serving up scrumptious pastries and the most delicious-looking coffee. A moment of pure bliss. My tutu has a perfect view of Big Ben – and a front-row seat to London's traffic. Big Ben might be a clock, but my tutu keeps perfect time. Every click of its second hand and the rhythm of my steps are perfectly synchronized.

No Tutu Tuesday in Westminster would be complete without a visit to the Houses of Parliament. After all, the history that seeps from these grand walls simply begs for an "elegant tutu". Think classic white tulle, layered and so exquisite it feels like silk. If Tutu Tuesday is about fashion statements then my tutu is loudly demanding democracy. (Even if its only getting its own political agenda heard in the tea rooms).

Tutu Tuesday in Westminster – it's not just about the twirls. It’s about the way my tutu fits seamlessly into the tapestry of history and culture. A nod to all the elegant women and strong personalities that have come before me. As the day unfolds, I can't help but notice my tutu seems to draw in smiles. From tourists, commuters and even the occasional MP. I love that the city embraces me - my tutu, my style and my celebration of this magical, feminine garment.

This Tutu Tuesday has been one for the ages, and as I bid farewell to Westminster and all its charming little nooks, I'm inspired. It's time to break out the sequins, the feathers, and maybe even the polka dots – my Tutu wardrobe is endless, and my imagination is overflowing. #tututuesday
