Islington Tutu Tuesday: A Whirlwind of Feathers and Fabric
Islington, my friends, is buzzing this Tuesday, and it's not because of the artisan sourdough bread stalls (although those are definitely worth a visit too!). Today is a day dedicated to a very special garment - the tutu!
Now, before you picture us all pirouetting in perfect unison around the High Street (although, wouldn't that be glorious?), let me clarify: Tutu Tuesday isn't a ballet class or performance. It's a celebration of all things tulle and frills. A playful excuse to embrace a touch of whimsical fashion, with a hint of tutus, of course!
My Instagram feed is already exploding with #TutTuesday selfies. From a touch of tutu peeking out from under a trench coat to a full-blown, multi-layered, ballerina-inspired ensemble, the creativity is infectious. This day is all about unleashing your inner prima ballerina and having some fun with fashion.
So, what’s my Tutu Tuesday look like today?
Forget the traditional ballet pink, today is all about colour! My chosen weapon is a fiery red tutu, inspired by the fabulous Carmen. It's a statement piece, boasting a bold, romantic, and fiercely feminine look, perfect for Islington's bohemian vibe. It’s not the standard “Romantic tutu” - it’s much more "Spanish", short, and layered with vibrant red feathers. To add a bit of my personal touch, I'm pairing it with a black crop top, black stiletto boots, and a chic fedora. Because, let's face it, a little bit of rebellious flair is always welcomed!
