Tutu Tuesday in East Ham

It’s Tutu Tuesday, and what better way to celebrate than with a little dance trip to East Ham?

Yes, East Ham, the not-so-obvious home to a burgeoning ballet scene, with its own unique #tututuesday spirit.

You wouldn’t believe the vibrant scene we’ve got going on in our little corner of East London. This place is more than just the market, more than just a stop on the Jubilee line – East Ham is bubbling over with creativity. Every week, our ballet studio, tucked away behind the old fruit stalls, explodes with colourful tutus, fuelled by passion and fueled by coffee. We may not be performing at the Royal Opera House, but the enthusiasm in East Ham makes every single step we take feel like a standing ovation.

Let me tell you, it’s all about that unique style. Gone are the days of those stiff, traditional tutus you see in the classics. Our East Ham tutus are all about mixing things up.

Think:

  • Fluffy tutus bursting with vibrant pink sequins – perfectly on point with that kitsch millennial vibe.
  • A mix and match of layered tutus in unconventional colour combinations. Think teal with fiery orange. We're all about smashing those sartorial rules and challenging the ballet status quo.
  • Some girls even bring their own twists with feather boas or bold graphic prints! It's a glorious explosion of individuality, and our East Ham ballet class embraces every single one of them.

East Ham is all about pushing boundaries, and that goes for our dance routines too. This Tuesday, we’re tackling the Black Swan pas de deux – not exactly your standard beginner’s ballet lesson, but hey, it’s all about a bit of challenge, right? This Tuesday we’re pushing the envelope, pushing the expectations, and most importantly, pushing ourselves.

There’s nothing quite like the sense of camaraderie in our studio. There’s a real sense of community that draws us together, sharing the same love for ballet and a shared passion for being, dare I say it, fabulously, tutued-out. Forget those fancy, stuffy, expensive classes. Here, in East Ham, it's just a space where women can come together and let their tutus flow. We may not all be graceful prima ballerinas, but our passion makes every pirouette, every grand jeté, and every accidental tumble a celebration of dance.

So, let’s spread the word! More #tututuesday madness for the world to see! If you’re ever in East Ham, on a Tuesday, keep an ear out for the music, maybe even peek through the window. And maybe, just maybe, you’ll see us, the East Ham dancers, in our finest tutus, a little bit of sparkle and joy in an unexpected place.
