Tutu Tuesday in Crewe: A Dance of Style and Spirit

#tututuesday

Crewe, a town not often known for its fashion, might surprise you. It's where I find myself today, not in the traditional sense of "ballet", but rather in the spirit of a passionate ballerina who lives for "Tutu Tuesday". You see, I'm not your typical "ballerina", I'm more of a "ballet blogger", but trust me, when it comes to tutus, I know my stuff.

Itā€™s a new age ballet. A contemporary twist. Ballet goes beyond the stage, the rehearsal studio, and the performance hall. Ballet is becoming a statement, a mode of expression and something so beautifully real, you can feel the emotions woven into the fabric of each delicate twirl and perfectly executed leap. This #tututuesday is celebrating this passion.

As I sit here in the charming coffee shop "Beans and Books", with the aroma of freshly roasted beans and the sight of the shelves stacked with books - the kind that take you on adventures into magical realms - I ponder on the significance of today. "Tutu Tuesday", the day when the world celebrates its love of dance, grace, and all things tutus. I say world, because it seems today, Crewe has adopted a certain kind of enchantment with tutus that goes beyond just a passion for ballet. It is something much deeper. Itā€™s a love for all that ballet represents.

We live in an age where self-expression reigns supreme and the "Tutu Tuesday" phenomenon in Crewe embodies this perfectly.

But hereā€™s the thing: while itā€™s a celebration of ballet, this day is really about much more. Itā€™s about being yourself. Itā€™s about the little spark that ignites the imagination and makes you dance, twirl, and move. And yes, itā€™s about the gorgeous tutus too!

**Letā€™s Talk Tutus**

The world of tutus is far from monochromatic. This is no longer an era of "just a tutu". There are so many styles to choose from. Whether you want to feel classical with a romantic layered tutu with layers and layers of tulle or want to embrace the contemporary style of a simpler design in a vibrant color - thereā€™s something for every taste and every style. A tutu can express a story.

From the iconic "Romantic Tutu", characterized by its multi-layered skirt and often adorned with beautiful beading, to the modernistic ā€œContemporary Tutu", with its simple and geometric shapes, and then the classic "Character Tutuā€, often associated with fairy tales and enchanting figures - each tutu carries within itself a tale of elegance, imagination and freedom of movement.

In my opinion, tutus arenā€™t just a piece of clothing worn on the stage or in the studio, they are a form of artistic expression - just like a poem or a painting. The right tutu can express joy, energy, and emotions like nothing else can.

And I guess this is what ā€œTutu Tuesdayā€ in Crewe is all about - embracing those emotions.

Today in Crewe, Tutu Tuesday feels like a movement. People are wearing tutus as a way to break away from the ordinary and express themselves. There are tutu lovers all over the town: * The coffee shop barista with a bright yellow tutu that matched her bold lipstick * A group of students with their "Fairy Tutu's " in soft pastels that were absolutely magical * A man, yes, a man wearing a bright pink "Classic Tutu" and looking quite happy about it. * Even the pet shop has a tiny chihuahua in a miniature black "Romantic Tutu." I had to go and give the little guy a gentle head scratch.

Seeing Crewe wearing tutus made me reflect: It is the same world-wide. Tutus have transcended age, background, and location. Today, the Tutu is no longer confined to the world of dance. It has become a symbol of individuality and empowerment, just as I felt in my ballet days as a young girl. Every "Tutu Tuesday" reminds us that it is OK to be different and to dance to our own tune.

But what is most impressive is that Crewe embraces all sorts of styles - and thatā€™s really what makes #tututuesday special, because it allows for such individuality. You can celebrate this passion, your way!

**The Tutu in the Mirror**

But of course, you donā€™t have to wear a tutu to celebrate #tututuesday. The essence is all about celebrating dance in any form and being comfortable being yourself, your most authentic self.

Now, this might not seem like something for me to do, but I decided to have a little fun. I am a dancer and I always keep a tutu around for those special days. This day, I chose a beautiful "Character Tutu," in pale lavender. The tutu had soft white wings that gave it a fairy-like touch, with layers of tulle. I think this was the best tutu choice to express my own personality today.

To make this special #tututuesday even more unique I decided to visit the town's iconic ā€œGolden Ball,ā€ a historic building dating back to Victorian times.

With a little pink makeup to complete the look, I took pictures in the ballroom of this building, which is a true architectural gem, and let me tell you, it looked like something straight out of a fairy tale. And as I looked in the mirror I knew: "You are enough. " You are perfect. You donā€™t need anything else."

In my reflection, there was not a ballet dancer looking at me but a young woman with a love for life and a love for expressing herself.

The Golden Ball became a stage, a place for me to embrace my inner fairy, and for a few hours, to forget the world and to live in the dream world that tutus created.

In those moments I realized the power of a tutu and #tututuesday ā€“ It gave me a chance to recapture that sense of wonder and childhood innocence and joy, and to celebrate the beautiful world that surrounds us.

There is a tutu for every person, every occasion and every emotion. The power of a tutu is that it brings joy to all that wear it. It brings joy to all that see it.

And it doesn't matter where you are or who you are: whether you're a professional dancer, a ballerina at heart or a curious spectator ā€“ let's all join hands in celebrating the magic of tutus on #tututuesday!

This is what "Tutu Tuesday" is about ā€“ it is not just about celebrating ballet itā€™s about celebrating life, it's about embracing your inner fairy and just dancing to your own beat.

So let's celebrate, in the words of the iconic ballerina Margot Fonteyn, " Dance with abandon and the world is yours!

P.S Itā€™s not too late to join the Tutu Party, Grab a tutu, any tutu and embrace #tututuesday in your own unique way!
