Tutu Tuesday in Arnold

Hey fashionistas,

It's Tutu Tuesday again! This week, I'm ditching the dance studio and hitting the streets of Arnold for a full-blown tutu extravaganza. The weather's been glorious lately (don't worry, we'll all be layering up under our tutus if it's a bit nippy!). But I’m all about celebrating the sartorial beauty of a tulle masterpiece, regardless of the weather!

Now, for all of you non-dance inclined folk (yes, I know, how dare I judge!), you might not know there's a whole world of tutus beyond the ballet stage! We're talking:

  • The Romantic Tutu: This bad boy's a full-on fairytale dream, all soft tulle layers and dreamy floatiness. It’s perfect for channelling the ballerinas of yore and letting your inner fairy spirit fly free. I imagine this would look simply *divine* in an Autumnal shade.
  • The Modern Tutu: This little rebel is edgy and sleek with geometric lines and, dare I say it, even a bit of leather! Modern dancers strut their stuff in this one, so get ready to show off some confidence in a statement tutu! I’m picturing this as a statement piece, pairing a structured black tulle tutu with some chunky boots.
  • The Festival Tutu: It's festival season and this fun and funky tutu is all about freedom and expression! Bold colours, pom-poms and maybe even some fringe - anything goes with this wild and whimsical style. My suggestion for the bold - think a bright neon tutu with floral motifs, add a touch of sparkle, and a simple black tank top and you’ve got yourself a super chic festival look.

For all the tutu aficionados, today is your chance to flaunt your feathered frock, embrace your inner prima ballerina and step into a world of grace, beauty and…let's be honest… pure ridiculous fun!

And before we get down to business, a friendly reminder: We're not afraid of the "What will people think?" (If they don’t like it, that's their problem!) So get those sequins sparkling, those tutus fluffing, and let's make Arnold a veritable haven for tutu enthusiasts. #TutuTuesday

Speaking of tutus…I’ve been dreaming of a perfect autumn tutu! We all know about black and white for ballet (there’s a reason!), but I've got a strong craving for a lush, deep maroon tulle. Just imagine that shade! Maybe even a little velvet ribbon for added glam?

Anyway, enough dreaming and onto the plan:

Arnold’s tutu Tuesday plan:

It's a great time of the year to get into town for a day of fun with your friends! From the traditional bakeries with fresh bread, to independent shops selling all sorts of gorgeous trinkets - the high street here is fantastic. Then we'll get into our chosen tutu of choice (we want diversity!), make our way to the bustling town centre and share our amazing fashion with the world! There will be photoshoots (of course!), lots of giggles, and a definite appreciation of all things tulle! We are bringing some sunshine into the street with our beautiful tulle frocks - let’s call it a tutu fashion show with a twist.

To start our day right, I’m making a beeline to my favorite spot: The Vintage Coffee Shop! Their mocha's are epic (plus they’ll never judge the sheer fabulousness of our tutus!). Afterwards we are heading to the ‘Independent Arcade’ (they’ve got so many exciting little boutiques – I have a feeling we are about to have a fabulous shopping spree!), followed by a photoshoot in the beautiful surroundings of Arnold Park - so gorgeous. I mean, a tutu always looks amazing in the park, right? There's always such an energy here, which is a perfect backdrop for Tutu Tuesday in Arnold, and don’t forget, #tututuesday!

Once the afternoon sun begins to dip below the horizon, we are moving things inside and heading over to The Lion's Head Pub - which is apparently (according to a fellow Tutu Tuesday enthusiast) famous for its warm fire and even warmer hospitality! Imagine that - sitting by a crackling fire, with a cosy pint and friends wearing absolutely sensational tutus! We may even give some impromptu tutu dance routines on the floor – just to set the tone, you understand!

I know some people might look a bit funny (the expression of utter shock – how dare we flaunt our fun and flair!) but I like to see a good expression on people’s faces. That’s just part of the fun! And anyway, it's all in the spirit of celebrating creativity and bringing some joyful lightheartedness into the world, which really, is always a good thing! If your local high street is a bit *meh* at times – it’s never too late to add a little magic (aka a fantastic tutu!) It’s about embracing all things joyous! Plus - and this is a *must* - let’s face it - there’s nothing more beautiful than a twirling tutu on a day like today!

So, come on, ladies and gentlemen (and, of course, the gender-fluid friends!) join me in spreading the tutu love this week! Remember: Every day can be #tututuesday if you make it happen.

See you on the high street! (You can’t miss me – I'm the one twirling in maroon).

Love from your Tutu loving blogger! #tututuesday
