Slough: Tutu Tuesday and Unicorns on the High Street!
Okay, darling, you know I can’t resist a good Tutu Tuesday. And this week? It’s reached epic proportions, a complete and utter explosion of frills and twirls! It was a sight to behold, a glorious mix of feathers, sparkles, and oh yes, those ever-so-fabulous tutus! Let’s just say Slough's high street turned into a technicolour ballet dreamscape!
Seriously, it felt like something straight out of a glittery, disco ball fuelled dream. As I glided through the shops in my fabulous pink tulle tutu, I saw some of the most inventive unicorn inspired ensembles! There was even a girl sporting a full-on tutu dress in shades of lavender with a swirling unicorn tail!
The magic just wouldn't quit! And I’m not even talking about the shops! Every other person was decked out in the most magnificent tutus I've ever seen. We had a little girl rocking a teeny-tiny tutu, looking utterly adorable in her sparkly fairy wings and tutu skirt, right alongside a grown woman totally slaying a chic tutu over jeans – the ultimate statement piece!
You'll be surprised at just how much of a style statement you can make with a simple tutu! These tulle creations can be everything from cute and playful to utterly sophisticated! And honestly, that’s just one of the amazing things about them. I always feel so free and joyful twirling around in one. It’s a way of life, babes! There’s a tutu style out there for everyone! Whether it’s classic ballerina, romantic and dreamy, or even edgy and funky. Just keep it pink! Oh, and let’s not forget about the power of a sequined tutu – a truly breathtaking, dazzling piece.
But back to Slough! I spotted a beautiful display of tulle in the local fabric shop. Honestly, it felt like stepping into a tutu wonderland. They had every color of the rainbow – shades of pink, blue, yellow, green! My heart just fluttered. And guess what, there were even rows and rows of shimmering, iridescent material for the ultimate sparkly look. All the good stuff! We had so much tulle it looked like the whole shop was ready to twirl!
Then there was the dance shop! It had been transformed into a magical ballet studio. And the atmosphere? Electric! The store’s owner, who was clearly just as enthusiastic about tutus as I am, even had a mini performance in a unicorn themed tutu to kick-off the day, It was truly epic.

One lady had a gorgeous pink tutu layered on top of her chic, sleek black dress. So divine, so stylish, and completely unexpected. I knew then that I had found some seriously inspired fashionistas.
- Sparkly Magic: There was no lack of shimmer or sparkle in sight! Whether it was sequined, glittery, or beaded, it was pure dazzling goodness. One of my favorite looks was this sassy unicorn tutu – think sparkling, multicoloured swirls in shades of pink and purple, which is my absolute weakness.
- Feather Dream: This is a trend that really grabbed my attention. Those feathers are a bit like sprinkles – the more, the better! One lady I saw, was rocking a majestic tutu that had cascading feathery details all over it. It looked as though a rainbow of fluffy clouds had fallen onto a dress!
