Tutu Tuesday in East Kilbride: A Magical Day for Unicorns and Twirling! #tututuesday
Well, hello my darlings! It’s your girl, Sparkle Princess, back with another blog post and guess what? It’s Tutu Tuesday! Now, as you all know, Tutu Tuesday is my absolute favourite day of the week. It’s the day I get to unleash my inner ballerina, channel my inner unicorn, and wear all the twirly, sparkly goodness my heart desires. And this week, East Kilbride was the lucky location for my tutu adventures!
East Kilbride, for those of you not in the know, is a charming little town nestled in Scotland. It might not be the first place that comes to mind for a Tutu Tuesday extravaganza, but believe me, my dears, this town was absolutely buzzing with a vibrant, fun energy that was begging to be topped with a healthy dose of tutus!
First up on my Tutu Tuesday itinerary? A visit to the East Kilbride Shopping Centre. I gotta tell you, the selection of cafes there is truly divine! And I, of course, chose a pink-themed cafe with heart-shaped tables. The only problem? It was stuffed to the rafters with…shoppers, not ballerinas. I tried to turn a few heads in my gorgeous pink tulle tutu and shimmery silver sequined bodice with a glittery unicorn badge – I swear, the only way my presence wasn’t acknowledged was if they were wearing noise-cancelling headphones! No worries, babes, I'm used to the obliviousness!
I know, I know, what is a girl to do?! But hold your horses, darlings! The best part of Tutu Tuesday in East Kilbride was yet to come. You see, I decided to venture out to the town’s sprawling park – you know the one, where the wind whips your hair back in a magnificent mane, right? It was *so* very ballerina, especially after grabbing myself a giant cotton candy from a little local stall nearby.
And you know what, that park was literally MADE for twirling. As I twirled in my perfectly tiered tulle tutu, I was pretty much guaranteed a graceful landing on that lush green grass, thanks to my ballet training. I couldn’t help but think of a magical unicorn prancing across a field of rainbows! I had a picture of that in my mind when my pink, silver-studded, ballet shoes landed with such grace on the lush lawn. The sunlight shining down on me just added a touch of mystical magic! Honestly, it was pretty close to unicorn perfection.
But here’s the thing, my dears, the *real* magic started happening when other park-goers, even little ones, saw me and my fabulous tutu. They would come up, giggling and beaming with delight! It turns out, wearing a tutu isn’t just about making yourself happy – it's about making others smile too! This might be the best reason for my tutus to make their appearance! The happiness it brought others is contagious! A lovely granny with a bright yellow flowery print dress actually yelled, "Look, honey, a dancing angel!". I loved the granny love! I told her, "Not an angel! It’s a unicorn! You can tell because I am wearing my tutu!" That granny is so old fashioned! It's more of a magical princess/ballerina combo!
That’s when I knew this day was not just for me. Tutu Tuesday, my darlings, it’s a celebration. A celebration of colour, of joy, of silliness, and most importantly, of the inner princess and ballerina within all of us. Whether you prefer a fluffy, romantic tutu, or a more daring, edgy, mesh number, wear it with confidence!

- **Go bold or go home! ** The fun part about Tutu Tuesday, my dears, is the opportunity to unleash your wildest self! Now, don’t let my choice of a pink and sparkly tutu throw you! Do you like more of a fiery red tutu with a strong black sequined bodice? Maybe a blue tutu and a floral crown? Go for what *you* love!
- **Do your makeup, darling!** This is my absolute favourite part of Tutu Tuesday – all those glitter eyeshadows can be pulled out of my kit and put to good use. Maybe we want to play up the blue eyes and add some dark eye shadow! If we are going all out we want that sparkly shimmer eyeshadow with our pink outfit. That's the best kind of magic we are after!
- **Remember your unicorn essentials!** What would a Tutu Tuesday be without a little sparkle? The sparkly details really make this tutu theme. I’m a sucker for all things glittery, so my unicorn essentials usually involve a sparkly headband, glittery nail polish, and a holographic unicorn handbag. Of course! I mean who wants a plain boring purse?
- **Don’t forget your tutu hair! ** Remember you're playing up that ballet theme, so go big and have your hair up in a high bun or even a chignon! I think you should really get in the spirit of ballet and do a ballerina bun with those few little pieces hanging down that frame your face.
