Okay, fellow tutu enthusiasts, get ready for some major sparkles! Today’s Tutu Tuesday is not just any ordinary tutu day - we’re diving headfirst into a whimsical wonderland of unicorns, disco balls, and enough pink to make Barbie blush! Pink is the New Black - and It’s the Tutu’s Best Friend
Let’s face it: life is just way more fun when it’s drenched in pink. So when I heard a call for unicorn-themed tutus on social media, I knew I had to get involved. The whole “pastel princess” aesthetic just gets me going. Think voluminous tulle, fluffy tutus with pastel pink ruffles, and layers and layers of glittery pink netting.
This Tutu Tuesday was a vision, a full-on sugar-rush to the senses. It wasn't your average everyday "I'm-at-the-ballet" kind of tutus, we're talking full-on tutus with pizzazz. Think rainbow colours, silver tinsel and shimmering sequins for extra, sparkly magic. The most perfect look for twirling and posing, and channeling your inner-ballerina. Honestly, it felt like I’d walked into a fairytale. The local park was a sea of pastel pink, glitter, and bouncing, swirling tutu-clad joy. A tutu-clad parade of dreams, with enough unicorn flair to make even the most jaded fashionista swoon. It was everything I'd dreamed about and more. We had classic tutus, ultra-fluffy tutus, and tutus that looked like a fairytale come to life, complete with glittering wings. But the real show-stopper was the tutus decked out in unicorn magic, boasting tails of swirling pink tulle and silver sequined horns that would put any mythical beast to shame.
Beyond the Tutu - Music, Madness and Disco Ball Magic
The vibe? It was like a giant disco ball exploded, coating the entire park with glittering joy.
Some Tutu Style Highlights:
• A Tutu of the Day Competition was hilarious with entrants including an incredible “unicorn princess tutu,” a tutu that glowed-in-the-dark. We even had one fabulous Tutu crafted entirely from old records, a very unique disco tribute to our love of dance. A brilliant, playful touch.
• I noticed that there was no one "type" of Tutu fan in Barking. We were a mix of young, old, girly girls and punk-rock babes – but everyone seemed united by one thing, and that's a love for expressing ourselves with style. And, of course, those adorable sparkly tutus.
• Let's not forget the amazing live music. The atmosphere was buzzing with infectious tunes and dancing tutus. Even my favourite local ‘indie-disco' band showed up with their shimmering guitar cases, adding their own musical flair to the mix.
• This Tutu Tuesday was the ultimate celebration of fun and creativity. People let loose, twirled and danced their hearts out - and with some spectacular results. The creativity just blew me away. But really, it's all about the tutus
Honestly, every single one of the tutus we saw today was amazing. I saw some pretty extravagant numbers too! A tutu is a classic piece of attire that can really show your style, creativity, and inner sassiness. There's something inherently magical about a tutu that just makes you want to spin, skip and prance.
And it’s more than just the skirt! The best tutus always come with matching accessories. This tutu Tuesday featured sparkling tiaras, fluffy unicorn ears, wands dripping with fairy dust, and glittery fairy wings to boot. We weren't just dressing up; we were transforming.
I must confess: there's something deeply satisfying about twirling and dancing in a sparkly, fluffy tutu - it's just the most fun you can have! And at the end of the day, it’s not just about how good we look - it’s about the energy, the happiness, the joy!
