Tutu Tuesday in Newbury: Unicorn Magic and a Disco Fever Dream! #tututuesday Well, darling, what a glorious Tuesday it has been! I’m currently wearing a sparkly pink tutu that would make even a unicorn blush. But more about that later, because my heart is full of the magic of the day. I’m just back from a little adventure, which started off like any ordinary Tuesday, me rocking a rather fabulous pair of floral tights and my comfy old ballet flats. I had the day off, so, naturally, a little shopping was in order! And the good news? A visit to the glorious shops of Newbury, Berkshire – a place which, dare I say, has really stepped up its fashion game lately!
First stop, the glorious vintage shop – it's a little treasure trove that makes my inner magpie go absolutely wild. And let's be honest, what is a little ballerina without a splash of vintage magic? Imagine: A fluffy white tutu for my Tuesday outfit and suddenly, I am twirling into a world of dreams! This one's a keeper. Think ballerina with a touch of disco glam – oh, to twirl under a glittering disco ball! The best bit? It was only £10!
And what else do I need to complete my fabulous day? A sparkly unicorn brooch! Think unicorn in pastel hues with shimmering wings and, well, it’s basically a party on my chest! I practically had to fight the other shoppers to get my hands on it!
But this little shopping spree was about more than just clothes. It’s about that joy, that sense of feeling fabulous that can only come from getting your hands on something amazing. Let's face it, you don't need a royal occasion to get your sparkle on, and a good quality vintage tutu, or for that matter a unicorn brooch, is practically an excuse to put your best self forward, right?
Oh, and just so you know, the vintage shop I bought the tutu in has some rather exquisite fluffy tulle tutus with delicate pink satin ribbon. They look heavenly and would probably be a big hit in a fancy ballet class. They are more "classic ballet" if you will, unlike my fabulous slightly longer vintage tutu, which screams “disco!” You know the sort.
There’s something magical about finding something you never knew you needed. Something beautiful, a touch of joy – especially in the middle of a regular, old week! Maybe a little unicorn brooch or vintage tutu can actually be a little piece of magic. Maybe a good old tutu could be an expression of creativity, of personality, and a statement that we are, well, sparkly fabulous. And to be honest, who doesn’t want to bring some magic into their lives?
