Kingswood: Tutu Tuesday takes flight!

Hey, gorgeous ballet babes! It's your girl, Bella, here, back with another fabulous #tututuesday blog post!

So, as you all know, I’m a massive Tutu Tuesday fan, it’s just the perfect excuse to sparkle, twirl and get our pink on, and honestly, there’s nowhere better to unleash your inner prima ballerina than in the heart of Kingswood.

This Tuesday, the sun was shining, the air was warm, and Kingswood was brimming with the most stunning display of tutus you could possibly imagine. From romantic and floaty, to glamorous and structured, there was a tutu for every style, every mood and, dare I say it, every unicorn lover!

Let’s face it, we all know that a true ballerina loves a good, swirling, voluminous tutu – something that just cries out to be pirouetted in. The tutus I saw on Tuesday just screamed ‘let's have some fun,’ and I gotta tell ya, it was pure, unadulterated joy. A good tutu is a confidence booster like no other, and when you’re rocking it on Tutu Tuesday, the whole world seems to shine a little brighter.

Speaking of shine, the detail on some of these tutus was unbelievable. Some were glittering with sequins and shimmering crystals, like they’d been sprinkled with stardust, while others were embellished with delicate lace, ribbons, and bows, that would make even the most demanding of swans swoon.

I was absolutely obsessed with one ‘fairy princess’ tutu I saw; a gorgeous white tutu with a pastel pink glitter trail, paired with shimmering pink ballet flats and a dazzling rainbow unicorn headband – I nearly fainted. I mean, how can you not be mesmerized by the 'Unicorn Dream' vibe. It’s magical!

But let's get real, tutu Tuesday isn't just about the tutus, although they are pretty much the main event. It's also about celebrating ballet and its spirit of creativity, strength, and self-expression.

You’re definitely a #tututuesday champion if you can rock a classic white tutu. It's like a ballerina’s little black dress – you can’t go wrong. I mean, imagine stepping onto the street in one, with perfectly sleek hair and a simple yet stylish ballerina bun. Pure elegance!

And if a white tutu feels too basic, how about a black one, for an effortlessly chic ballerina look? Just imagine: sleek, stylish, a dash of rock and roll attitude – just a little bit of tutu rebellion. Throw on a leather jacket, and a pair of statement earrings, and you’ll definitely turn heads. You can go bold with a patterned, dramatic tutu. But that's an outfit only to be worn with serious confidence!

But you don’t have to have all the classic elements of ballet to rock a great tutu! Just let your own creativity shine! Embrace the fun! Some women opted for fun styles; colourful tutus, tulle skirts with whimsical animal prints, vibrant tights, a simple ballerina skirt paired with a trendy t-shirt and a sparkly cardigan – the combinations were truly amazing. Let your imagination take you to a tutu-ful place and express your inner ballet goddess.

And for a touch of magic, the Unicorn trend is still a biggie, just as popular as always! With a unicorn themed tutu you just can't go wrong. Add some shimmer, bright pinks, maybe a dazzling glitter unicorn horn headband for an extra dose of enchantment. A sprinkle of magical dust on the day, and BAM, you’re good to go!

One of the amazing things about Tutu Tuesday in Kingswood is that it’s truly for everyone, irrespective of their skill, experience or age. You could be a ballet teacher, a grandma, or even a little girl – no matter who you are, the fun on this day is infectious.

The beauty of this tradition is that it empowers us to embrace our love of ballet, while creating an environment where it’s OK to let our hair down, express our individuality, and most importantly, have a lot of fun!

I spotted one tutu-fied family, complete with matching unicorn headbands - their laughter and smiles were just so adorable. The cutest little dancer strutting her stuff in her super girly ‘Unicorn Dreamer’ tutu stole the show and definitely had all the older gals clapping, chanting and shouting “YASSSS!”.

So, if you're looking for a unique and magical experience in Kingswood, a guaranteed way to sprinkle a bit of sunshine and magic into your day, I implore you - get your tutus out, don your brightest pink, and make your way down to Kingswood next Tutu Tuesday!
