Tutu Tuesday in Bridlington: A Tale of Unicorns and Sequins #tututuesday
It's Tuesday, which can only mean one thing - Tutu Tuesday! I’m Amelia, a full-time ballet dancer, part-time blogger, and lifelong devotee of all things pink, sparkly, and twirly (especially tutus).
Today, I'm heading to Bridlington, the seaside town that’s suddenly become the centre of the Tutu Tuesday universe, to embrace my inner unicorn.
I love tutus. There’s a tutu style for every mood: * **Romantic and classic** with its soft layers and graceful folds * **A full-bodied pouf, a playful and full of fun look**. * **Then there's the elegant and slinky look, perfect for any stage**, all with layers of shimmery tulle and intricate embroidery. But today’s Tutu Tuesday is about unicorns!
Let me tell you about the Bridlington Unicorn festival! You haven’t lived until you’ve seen a shimmering, sequined unicorn prancing around in a Tutu! The streets were alive with colour and laughter. It felt like every other person in Bridlington was in a Tutu - I even saw a group of little kids dancing to disco music in their sparkly unicorn tutus!
You know me, I have to share these tutu adventures with you. Let's talk unicorn-inspired tutu trends! Forget traditional, beige tutus for the classical ballerina! The modern dancer needs a rainbow of colour, so that's where unicorns come in:
* A tutu is made with **tulle, often layered for extra volume**. There's an incredible unicorn tulle that makes any Tutu magically sparkle! The fabric, I think, adds just a touch of fairytale to any Tutu style! * Unicorns are symbols of purity and innocence. So, let’s be inspired by that and look for soft pastels like lilac, aqua, and pale pink. Then, give it a good, generous amount of iridescent sparkle for that ethereal glow! * **Look for those little details!** Maybe a unicorn horn brooch or a smattering of rainbow sequins sewn into the fabric.
Of course, if you are not feeling quite as unicorn-tastic, maybe something simpler like a solid pink tutu might just hit the spot. The right pink shade is, without a doubt, a colour fit for a princess.
Now, I have been spending way too long staring at my collection, but time to get back to the festival! Don't forget your tutus and have a sparklingly wonderful time at your nearest Tutu Tuesday festival. You can use my favourite hashtag, #tututuesday or the ever-popular #unicorntutu on your photos - remember the internet is your stage!
Love, Amelia
