Tutu Tuesday in North Shields: A Sparkle-tastic Adventure #tututuesday
Greetings, my fellow tutu enthusiasts and unicorn dreamers! It’s your girl, Glitterbomb, bringing you the hottest fashion news from the fabulous streets of North Shields, where today is not just Tuesday, but **Tutu Tuesday**! 💃
Now, if you’re new to this whole Tutu Tuesday thing, let me enlighten you: It’s basically a glorious celebration of all things tutu, with a sprinkle of whimsy, a dash of disco, and enough pink to make a flamingo blush! And guess what? North Shields is all about embracing the fabulous, making it the perfect place to strut your stuff in a fabulous tutu, and let’s be honest, who doesn’t love a little tut-tastic sparkle?✨
Okay, so this week’s inspiration is pretty much all things unicorn-y (sorry, it’s like an allergy! 🦄🤧) . But don't think I'm just going to rock a boring old tut-tastic get-up, oh no, darling, my unicorn ensemble has a twist: the perfect combination of ethereal glamour with a cheeky dose of street-style savvy, of course!
My Look
- Firstly, the foundation for every dazzling unicorn look? A beautiful tutu! I went for a romantic layered tulle design with an ethereal ombre effect, graduating from pale pink at the top to a deep, almost iridescent pink at the bottom - just think of that dreamy magical effect on a unicorn's coat. 💖
- And here’s where things got seriously glamorous: To accentuate the mystical theme, I added a sparkling holographic tulle layer, which I snagged at a little shop downtown, and of course, the key to any good Tutu Tuesday look is an amazing headpiece! So, naturally, I adorned my crown of hair with a glitter unicorn headband, complete with a pink glitter horn that I made myself (told you, I love crafting!).
- I gotta be honest, finding unicorn inspired footwear that was comfortable but also totally rocking the disco vibes wasn't easy. But thankfully, after rummaging around my vintage shoe collection, I found it, a gorgeous pair of silvery, glitter-flecked sandals. Just the right amount of disco for a Tuesday night! 🤩
I couldn't resist finishing off my look with a bit of makeup magic. First, a touch of glitter for my eyes, a dusting of holographic pink highlighter on my cheeks (for that shimmering unicorn-skin effect!), and lastly, a bright pink pout (pink's the only shade that really embraces that "magical creature" vibe) - and just like that, the unicorn dream was fully realized!
Hitting the Streets of North Shields!
Now, you know I couldn't just wear this fabulous outfit indoors. No, no, no! Time to hit the streets of North Shields! And let me tell you, I felt amazing, absolutely radiant in the afternoon sunshine - every passing glance was worth it! I mean, you can’t tell me this wasn’t a walking unicorn-themed fairy tale happening in North Shields and on that note, everyone is feeling the same unicorn vibes!
- The streets were bustling with excited shoppers, the majority of whom had clearly been swept up in the tutu spirit! There were classic pouter tutus, romantic ballet styles with layers upon layers of tulle and so many color combos! From classic pinks and whites to vivid turquoise and purple that I thought to myself, "Hey, those colors could really be used in a tutu!
- And as I twirled my way past the cafes, the sound of laughter, the smell of freshly brewed coffee, and the sights of families out and about created this delightful little bubble, full of happiness, joy, and let’s not forget the sheer exuberance of tutus.!
- There was even a group of school children outside a school. I saw so many different colors of tutu's: a rainbow tutu! Now, I have got to find a rainbow tutu. That was totally dreamy. 😍
Now I might not be a seasoned dancer with a killer triple pirouette, but this Tutu Tuesday I realized you don't have to be a ballet professional to enjoy a tutu. No, it's all about embracing the whimsical and rocking it with confidence, you know, the kind of confidence that says "Look at me! I’m not just any girl. I’m a fabulous ballerina!
Of course, this being North Shields, it wouldn’t be a true Tutu Tuesday without a trip to one of the town’s legendary chippies. But darling, that's another story for another day. Until next time! 👋
