Kendal, darling!
#tututuesday
It's a Tuesday, which means one thing... Tutu Tuesday! I mean, let's be real, every day should be Tutu Tuesday, right? But for us fashion-forward, tutu-loving babes, it's extra special. Today I decided to take my tutu game to Kendal, a quaint little town in the Lake District that's known for its rolling hills, stunning scenery and... surprisingly… its vibrant, hidden tutu community. It seems there’s a lot of tutu-loving, ballet-obsessed folks around. Who knew?
The theme for today's tutu adventures? Unicorns! Of course.

It wouldn't be a real tutu Tuesday without a little dose of sparkle and fantasy, so I whipped out my very own **rainbow tutu**! It's this gorgeous confection of a tutu, layers and layers of pink, blue, yellow and lavender tulle, with glittery iridescent rainbow streamers that twirl and swoosh like magic. Plus, I accessorized with a matching pink headband adorned with a tiny silver unicorn horn, just to seal the deal.
To add an extra dash of magical flair to the ensemble, I paired the unicorn tutu with a shimmering pink bodysuit. It gave me a disco princess vibe (it’s a look!), with a dash of ballerina chic.
After grabbing a sparkly unicorn-themed latte (don’t judge!), I headed out to explore Kendal's hidden gems. And wouldn’t you know it, I bumped into the most fabulous Tutu Tribe EVER.

Imagine, it was the most fantastic parade of swirling tulle. Think swirling clouds of pastels. There was a lovely woman rocking a full-length tutu de pointe in blush pink that had me practically swooning. It looked like a dreamy wedding gown. The girls in this town were a sight to behold. So inspiring! Our group, now sporting matching pastel-coloured unicorn tutus (of course we coordinated - it was meant to be) decided to hit the shops in a swirling cloud of sparkling pink and silver, spreading the joy of tutu-dom across Kendal’s quaint high street. The shoppers went wild! Well, maybe not, but we made a statement, right?
Some things you need to know about wearing a tutu: * The stares, those oh-so-sweet stares, are unavoidable. It's a tutu, not a regular frock! But most people are sweet. They offer compliments, grin, or even give a polite nod. I even got a wave from a bus driver (well maybe he was distracted by my pink helmet, who knows). * It's an instant conversation starter. Don’t expect to sneak out the door in a tutu without chatting to the cashier about your unicorn. And yes, someone asked me where I got my unicorn headband from!
* There's a distinct joy in moving with all that swish and swirl of a **tutu de plume**! Honestly, it's like floating on air! * Don’t try a **tutu de plume** (that’s a short fluffy tutu) for shopping; unless, of course, you’re really good at hopping over your ankles. And frankly, I can't walk in a pair of sensible, flat shoes if I try - those delicate fabrics don’t allow for it! My tutu adventures culminated with a magnificent dance on the Kendal green (I couldn’t resist!) followed by an extravagant afternoon tea at a sweet cafe with vintage furniture. It was the most fabulous tutu tea party ever!
And so, as the sun dipped behind the rolling hills, I danced my way back to my flat, feeling nothing short of blissful and utterly magical, because you know, let's be real, there's something about a tutu, even a unicorn tutu, that simply makes you feel like you're dancing on air. #tututuesday!
I mean, where else could I walk around town looking like a whimsical, tutu-clad unicorn, attracting smiling faces and delighted whispers all while sipping my unicorn latte and enjoying an extravagant tea party. This is my life - tutu and love it!
