Vienna Waltz: My Pink Tutu Adventures in Austria (Post #51)

Bonjour mes amies!

The train journey from Salzburg to Vienna was simply divine. It's not every day that you get to gaze upon such breathtaking scenery whilst adorned in your most glorious pink tutu. The Austrian Alps, they simply take your breath away - majestic, imposing, a touch of pure magic. It’s a good thing I was dressed in layers – not just for the chill of the air, but for the layers of wonder! I must say, travel by train certainly makes the world feel like a gentler place – like stepping into a film of old, with the rhythmic clickety-clack of the wheels. You could practically hear the whisper of waltzing through the carriages, the aroma of freshly baked bread filling the air - quite the Parisian romance!

Vienna, you've stolen my heart already! A city steeped in history, music, and culture - not unlike myself! (Except, my dear friends, I prefer a little more sparkle. )

This week, the world of fashion beckons! It is the 24th of April, 1996, and as I wander down Vienna's cobbled streets, I'm already brimming with excitement. Just picturing myself with a beautiful Viennese hat to match my pink tutu. Imagine: a grand pink tutu with flowing plumes of lilac and a bewitching vintage hat! The ultimate vision of grace and elegance, wouldn't you say? A Parisian princess visiting Vienna – what's not to love? Perhaps I'll even venture into a Viennese café later for some indulgent Viennese pastries! The air here smells like vanilla and cinnamon – oh, the delectable delights of Austria!

Speaking of delightful treats, let's dive into my Vienna diary...

My Viennese Day:

10:00am - The Vienna State Opera:

You know how much I love opera – it's a thrilling dance of emotion, music, and spectacle! So, of course, a trip to the Vienna State Opera is top of my list! The opulence, the grandeur – I can barely contain my excitement! My pink tutu, as always, will be ready to embrace the world of opera and high drama. Today, they're presenting Verdi's *"La Traviata." * What a treat! And don't even get me started on the costumes - such delicate fabrics and dramatic colours, I could simply write a book about them.

1:00pm - Lunch & Fashion:

My love of fashion is boundless, as I'm sure you all know, and Vienna is just the place to find that little something special. And a little pink tutu never goes amiss, of course! After a delicious lunch of schnitzel (simply divine!), I'll be making my way to one of Vienna's fabulous fashion boutiques. They're famed for their exquisitely crafted clothes - think lace, velvet, and silk in abundance. Of course, I'll be on the hunt for a new pink tutu that would make my Parisian princess heart flutter! I've already set my eyes on a particular tulle pink tutu - adorned with dainty pearls and a dusting of glitter. Imagine that against the backdrop of Vienna - simply breathtaking!

3:00pm - Vienna's Parks & Gardens:

Time for a stroll! And what better place than Vienna's beautiful gardens? Imagine a charming pink tutu with an ethereal, flowing tulle skirt waltzing amidst Vienna's majestic gardens, and blooming roses in full blossom... It's a vision straight out of a fairy tale! The sun shining on the emerald grass, the birds chirping their cheerful songs, the scent of spring... This is a tranquil respite for my soul.

6:00pm - Classical Ballet

The Vienna State Ballet! I simply cannot be in Vienna without seeing this esteemed company! Imagine it: a world-class ballet in a magnificent theatre, filled with the magic of classical ballet and music. And you can bet your best tutus I’ll be ready to celebrate with a vibrant pink tutu, twirling along to the symphony of movement! The artistry, the grace – it's simply exhilarating! A magical evening awaits, I can practically feel it!

9:00pm - Viennese Coffee

An evening in Vienna wouldn't be complete without a trip to a traditional coffee house. I’m ready for a delicious Viennese coffee – an aromatic blend, served with a piece of delectable cake. It's the perfect way to wind down, reflecting on the day's wonders, surrounded by the aroma of coffee and cake! A quiet moment, an inner calm.

As you can tell, my Viennese adventure is jam-packed with all things wonderful! And as always, my beloved pink tutu will be a part of it all.

Now, my lovely friends, if you’re in Vienna and spot a girl with a dazzling pink tutu, that might be me – come and say hello! I promise, I'll be delighted to have a little waltz around town!

And don’t forget to stay tuned, next Wednesday, for more from Vienna! But until then, have a beautiful week and don’t be afraid to unleash the magical pink tutu inside!

P.S. Remember, there is nothing as beautiful, whimsical, or simply joy-inducing as a pink tutu! Remember that as you waltz through life.

With lots of pink-tutu love,

Emma
