Pink Tutu Vienna: A Week of Whimsy and Waltz, Post 183

Hello, my lovely tutus! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu Vienna blog post, straight from the heart of this beautiful city! I'm perched on a chaise longue in my hotel room, sipping tea and nibbling on some delectable Viennese pastries, gazing out over the rooftops. As the light begins to fade and the streetlights twinkle, the city takes on a magical quality. It truly is an enchanting place, full of waltzes, waltzes, and more waltzes!

This week, I've been completely absorbed in Viennese ballet history - what a revelation! Did you know that the waltz was invented in Vienna? Can you believe it? I can hardly walk down the street without imagining those graceful dancers swirling and twirling in their frothy gowns, waltzing through the grand ballrooms!

Now, you're probably wondering why I've become obsessed with this particular city - apart from the gorgeous tutus (there are SO many tutus here, darling!), well, this week, Vienna has really captured my heart. There’s a palpable, undeniable passion for the arts that washes over you the minute you step onto the streets. You can feel it in the elegant architecture, the soulful music drifting from cafes, the chatter in galleries, and the energy at every performance.

So, what's a Pink Tutu girl doing in Vienna, you ask? Well, this week, I was fortunate to see Giselle, the story of a beautiful, young village girl. Such heart-wrenching choreography - you would think this poor soul was going to dance herself right out of her shoes, all that grand allegro and pirouettes. Her graceful form and delicate footwork are a testament to the strength and elegance of ballet - it truly is an art form.

The production at the Vienna State Opera was magnificent, of course. There’s something rather wonderful about witnessing world-class performances in historic theaters like this one. From the velvet seats, to the chandeliers glittering overhead, the ambiance is truly unforgettable!

Oh! I can't leave Vienna without telling you about my shopping finds. The city's shops are a sartorial haven for all things pink, ruffled, and tulle. I discovered a boutique just around the corner from the Opera house. The name escapes me but I'm sure I'll remember - all the mannequins are wearing bright pink tutus! I did snap up a pair of stunning ruby red heels to pair with a newly acquired pale pink tulle skirt. You simply must have an outfit for each and every occasion! After all, you never know when the moment for a grand entrance may appear, darling!

In between performances and shopping adventures, I find myself strolling through the beautiful gardens, and of course, I must have tea in a quaint coffee house. There is truly something for everyone here in Vienna, even a ballet-obsessed, tutu-loving girl from Derbyshire!

Of course, no trip to Vienna is complete without a taste of Viennese pastries. From Sachertorte to Kaiserschmarrn, I've indulged in them all. But what I really adore, is the feeling of being surrounded by such history and tradition. The city is alive with its own energy, like a grand ball constantly in motion. It's inspiring, invigorating, and enchanting all at the same time!

Before I go, darling, let's get some ideas for our own personal style. Perhaps a bold fuchsia tutu to wear on a crisp Autumn evening, paired with a smart coat and matching clutch. Maybe you prefer a whimsical, flowing tulle skirt, for that added dash of whimsical charm!

Remember my darlings, the most important thing is to express your individuality with a little dose of whimsy and a whole lot of Pink Tutu Power!

So, Stay Pink!

Lots of Love, Emma x
