#PinkTutuVienna - Blog Post #258: Vienna, My Darling, You’re a Dream in Pink!

Hello, my darling pink-loving friends!

It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another adventure in the world of tutus and pink. Today, we're waltzing our way through Vienna, Austria, a city that truly captures the heart of a pink tutu-wearing ballerina! As a lover of all things pretty and twirly, Vienna has been on my bucket list for years, and let me tell you, it has exceeded every expectation.

From Derbyshire to Vienna by Train:

Now, I know some people love flying, but nothing beats the romance of a train journey. The scenery flitting by as you sit back with a cup of tea and a good book is simply divine! And what's even more wonderful is that you can rock a tutu on a train without fear of judgement - bonus points if you’re wearing pink! So, with a bag packed full of pink outfits (including a couple of secret tulle surprises!), I hopped on the train and set off on this grand Viennese adventure.

My Viennese Waltz:

Vienna is the city of music and dance, and let me tell you, there's not a single place that has captured the magic of ballet like this one! The moment I stepped off the train, the charm of this city embraced me. Cobblestone streets, grand palaces, and enchanting music pouring from street musicians – it’s truly the most elegant and enchanting city I’ve ever seen!

A Pink Ballerina's Paradise:

Vienna is absolutely a pink tutu haven. There's a shop on every corner overflowing with the most gorgeous outfits! My favourite thing to do is to spend hours wandering through the streets, dipping into the shops and soaking in the exquisite fashion. From delicate vintage pieces to contemporary fashion, Vienna has something for every style, and you can be sure I was snapping up some incredible pink gems to add to my wardrobe!

The Opulence of The Vienna State Opera House:

It wouldn't be a trip to Vienna without a visit to the Vienna State Opera House, a dazzling piece of architecture that's the embodiment of elegance. Oh, the sheer opulence of the interior, it made my tutu-loving heart sing! I got the most amazing photo of me doing a twirl in front of it, complete with a dramatic swirl of my tulle. You can see it on my Instagram, of course!

A Delicious Slice of Viennese Life:

Vienna is a city that knows how to treat its guests. From delicious coffee and cake in cosy cafes to the most extravagant chocolate shops you could ever imagine, every sense was indulged. One day I’m enjoying a traditional Sachertorte in a grand cafe, the next I'm exploring the enchanting history of Viennese cuisine in a local market.

Dancing With the Horses:

And of course, no trip to Vienna is complete without a visit to the Spanish Riding School. The sight of those majestic Lippizaner horses, trained to perform classical ballet, is simply breath-taking! It was so elegant and graceful, watching them move through the elaborate steps with such precision. I can't wait to share this experience with you on Instagram!

History and Tutu:

Every building, every street in Vienna holds centuries of stories, a history that stretches back through time. From the grand palaces to the charming squares, I found myself lost in history's embrace. And it’s in this historic atmosphere that I find myself thinking about the history of ballet, and tutus. What is a ballet tutu? What was it worn for? It’s amazing how the tutu has changed over time, from the long, billowing tutus of the 18th century to the shorter, more streamlined designs of today. It’s almost as fascinating as Vienna’s history!

Ballet & Beyond:

As always, I found time to immerse myself in the vibrant dance scene of Vienna. I visited a dance academy and saw a couple of incredible performances at local theatres. It’s truly inspiring to see so many talented dancers expressing themselves with passion and joy. I was reminded of how much I love performing and how much joy it brings me to share my passion for ballet with the world.

Sharing the Pink Tutu Love:

I believe in the power of a pink tutu to spread joy and sparkle wherever you go! And Vienna certainly gave me plenty of opportunities to share the tutu love. I met so many amazing people - other pink lovers, fellow ballet enthusiasts, and simply curious souls eager to be part of my pink world!

The Importance of Pink Tutus

Pink tutus are so much more than just a garment, they’re a symbol of joy, happiness and self-expression! They make me feel confident, bold and beautiful. And when I wear one, I see a little girl's face light up with happiness. And you know what, isn’t that what life is all about? Sharing joy with the world, one pink tutu at a time?

Stay tuned for more adventures:

Vienna, you have completely stolen my heart. And, of course, this won't be my last visit. I'm already planning my next Viennese escape.
