#PinkTutuVienna: Whirlwind in Vienna (Post #314)

Hello darlings! Welcome back to my weekly #PinkTutuVienna blog. It's Wednesday, the day I whisk you all off to my latest ballet adventure - this week it's the glorious city of Vienna, and what an adventure it's been!

Let me just start by saying, I'm completely smitten with this city. I feel like I've been transported to a waltzing, waltzing, waltz, a wonderland of coffee houses, majestic palaces, and of course, the incredible ballet tradition that Vienna is renowned for. And naturally, my arrival was greeted with a flourish - a jaunty trot through the cobblestone streets, a charming vintage carriage carrying me and my pinkest tutu to my delightful hotel!

This week's journey to Vienna was a delightful mix of ballet magic and fashionable fun. I always travel by train ā€“ it's just so wonderfully glamorous, and a perfect opportunity for a twirl or two in my latest pink tutu. Iā€™ve found the most divine travel tutus - short, ruffled, and with just enough glitter to catch the sunlight glinting through the train window. (There are photos of this beauty, my darling tutus, on Instagram, and the pinkest outfit I found here in Vienna - don't miss them!).

Speaking of Vienna, I'm absolutely in love with its style. It's all about a certain refined elegance - a splash of floral print, a dash of velvet, a touch of vintage lace. Of course, pink has always been my favourite colour (you knew that already, didn't you?), but Vienna takes the shade to a whole new level of chic! Itā€™s as if this city was designed for tutu-wearing princesses! And to be honest, with the graceful architecture, I do feel just like a ballerina in a fairytale here. (I have photos on Instagram, do have a peek.)

Now, to the main event - the reason why I even ventured out on my ballet escapade to Vienna! Itā€™s always an honour to grace the stage, and here in this fabulous city I was invited to perform for the ā€œDance the Dreamā€ charity event at the renowned Vienna State Opera House. It's an absolute treasure trove of beautiful costumes, extravagant sets, and glorious, heart-wrenching music - perfect inspiration for a ballet dancer like myself!

And oh, the excitement! My performance went off without a hitch (although my pirouettes were, I'm sure, slightly more whimsical in that stunning gilded auditorium!) and my darling pink tutu received the most delightful applause - truly the sound of approval from heaven itself.

After the performance, it was off to a celebration party. You know I love a party, and this one was divine - a swathe of shimmering dresses and laughter, with delicious canapes that wouldnā€™t look out of place in a royal palace!

You may be thinking, "Emma, how can you afford all of this?!" I have a secret: I fund my ballet journeys by performing at events just like these. I also have a special project running to promote my blog - a very exclusive group of online fashion lovers have become ā€œPink Tutu Patronsā€ (thank you for all your wonderful support - my darling tutus are now even more pinker than before!).

And letā€™s not forget, Vienna is a haven for all things ballet. After all, the city gave us the waltz, didn't it? I've taken a ballet lesson at a traditional Viennese dance studio, which of course, had beautiful mirrored walls and soft, rosy lighting - so romantic. The instructor, Frau Maria, was a sweetheart - we spoke about tutus and Vienna, naturally! And she shared the history of tutus, which is fascinating: They started out as a sort of 'everyday' skirt (which made me so excited, think of it! Tutues could be worn just about everywhere, every day), but evolved to be part of dance performances, making each movement so incredibly dramatic.

Next, we had a lovely tea and pastry at CafĆ© Central, a place where history oozes out of every window and armchair. Itā€™s so utterly elegant and stylish, perfect for people watching, sketching new tutu ideas, and making plans for my next performance.

As you know, Iā€™m a huge fan of all things theatrical, and what I find so captivating is the theatreā€™s power to whisk us all away - it makes each performance a journey of emotion and enchantment, especially here in Vienna, where the historical backdrop and the grandeur just adds that extra layer of wonder and magic!

Speaking of history, my darlings, have I mentioned how much I love the museums in Vienna?! Oh, my, I'm particularly drawn to the Schƶnbrunn Palace and the Museum of Musical Instruments ā€“ such an exciting spectacle of treasures!

But of course, the main reason I came to Vienna was the dance - and the music! The opera was a pure, enchanting dream. I was in awe as the symphony swirled through the magnificent hall, such divine melody. It felt like I was stepping back in time, watching the history of the waltz unfold before me!

Vienna is the most enchanting city. The architecture, the vibrant culture, the stunning artā€¦ Itā€™s all beautiful and romantic. Even the coffee, I tell you, it's an artform in Vienna! Everything here just seems to be crafted for delight - you can practically feel the magic as you walk around this exquisite city. The Viennese love ballet just as much as I do! They were so excited to meet me at my ā€œPink Tutuā€ fan meet on Sunday. My darlings were so sweet - they even wore tutus (most of them pink, naturally) to meet their favourite ballet-obsessed blogger, it was absolutely charming!

As you know, every week, I find a moment to teach others to twirl and spin in my weekly ballet classes. On this trip, I have started an exciting project - introducing kids to the world of ballet and the joy of dance! And I even introduced a new pink tutu style just for these mini-ballets - itā€™s short and sweet with plenty of shimmer, just the right amount for a beginner ballerinas! (Pictures are of course on Instagram). These little stars were brilliant! (Have a look, my darlings I have a video of our tiny little performance, a snippet of pure cuteness.

You know what else I've been loving in Vienna? Itā€™s the charming horse-drawn carriages. Oh, how I admire these strong creatures, so graceful in their stride! There is just something incredibly romantic about gliding through the cobbled streets with the clink of hooves on stone, with a touch of that elegant, fairytale vibe - perfect for a ballerina like myself!

So, I hope you're enjoying my little #PinkTutuVienna adventure as much as I am, my darlings! The week flew by! Vienna has stolen a little piece of my heart and I know itā€™s not the last you will see of my journey with the magnificent pink tutu in this wonderful, magical, enchanting city! And you know me - you can trust me to find the perfect pink tutu outfit to wear when I return for a dance in Vienna soon!

Until next Wednesday! Be sure to follow me on Instagram and join the #PinkTutuVienna fan club - I'll be posting photos of the most exquisite outfits (many of them with a very, very distinct shade of pink!) and even some ballet steps to inspire you!

Sending you a sprinkle of Vienna's fairytale magic and plenty of twirling love!

Yours in pink tutus,

Emma
