Vienna Waltz: A Pink Tutu Paradise! (Post #322)

Hello my dearest Tutu-istas! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another fabulous installment of my Pink Tutu Adventures. This week I'm taking you on a whirl through Vienna, the city of music, culture and, you guessed it, a whole heap of pink!

Now, I know you're all thinking, "Vienna, the home of Strauss waltzes, oh how dreamy!" But let's be honest, what makes this place truly heavenly is the abundance of fabulous tutu opportunities! From the Vienna State Opera to the enchanting waltz venues, the ballet world is bursting at the seams here.

It all started with a train journey, naturally. There's something incredibly magical about watching the scenery flash by from a train window, especially when you're wearing a pink tulle masterpiece that catches the sunlight like a million sparkling diamonds. And just to make the whole thing extra glamorous, I brought along my pet hamster, Pipkin, nestled comfortably in his custom-made pink tutu carrier. He's quite the sensation on public transport, and I'm not surprised. Pipkin is one dapper little fellow!

Vienna: The City of Ballet Wonders

First stop? The Vienna State Opera! This iconic building is the grandest stage in Austria, and they just so happen to put on a show-stopping ballet season. I've managed to squeeze in a viewing of "The Nutcracker," which is just divine. The music, the dancing, the costumes... sigh… the magic! Of course, I couldn't resist adding my own personal flair to the evening – a shimmering pink tutu adorned with tiny snowflakes and a cute little ballerina bear brooch. I was practically channeling Clara herself!

A Touch of Ballet History

But it's not all about the performances here! Vienna boasts some seriously impressive ballet history, and my inner history buff was giddy with excitement. I ventured to the Vienna State Opera’s history museum, where I got lost in an ocean of information about ballet’s early days in Vienna. Turns out, it was one of the first cities to embrace this form of performance. Who knew? The amount of tutus that must have graced these very halls over the centuries is quite mind-boggling, to say the least.

Shop, Shop, Shop!

No trip to Vienna would be complete without a little shopping, right? Thankfully, this city has an abundance of the finest boutiques, from chic high-street names to quaint independent stores. I managed to unearth the most exquisite pink feathered fascinator that goes perfectly with my current favourite tutu (a pale blush shade with hand-stitched embroidery, to die for!). Pipkin has even been upgraded with a new miniature top hat with a little pink feather. The ultimate gentleman's ensemble, I assure you!

Horse-Drawn Carriage Through a Dreamy Landscape

And of course, I'm not in Vienna without experiencing the traditional horse-drawn carriage ride. There's something truly romantic and elegant about gliding through the cobbled streets as the sun dips below the horizon, painting the city in hues of warm orange and soft pink. And, naturally, I insisted on rocking a new blush pink tutu adorned with miniature horses, because why not?

A Waltz Through Time

Tonight, it's time for the real highlight of my Viennese adventure – the traditional waltz. It's something you simply have to experience in Vienna! The music fills the air, swirling around you like the decadent patterns on a luxurious vintage fabric. My pale pink tutu, perfectly flowing and elegant, seems to be waltzing alongside me. I imagine myself twirling alongside the legends of Vienna’s waltz history. It's absolutely breathtaking.

The Pink Tutu Dream is Alive and Kicking!

Now, you might be wondering, "Why all this pink tutu love, Emma?" It’s simple, really. For me, it’s about embracing joy, beauty, and the magical world of ballet. Wearing pink tutus allows me to express myself freely and inspires me to spread that same energy and happiness throughout the world.

And, as always, I want you all to feel empowered to wear whatever makes you feel your best, whether that be a pink tutu, a bold fashion statement, or simply a smile that brightens the day! Remember, life is short, and it’s about embracing everything that brings you joy. So, go out there, spread the love, and dance like nobody’s watching – preferably in a stunning pink tutu!

And as a special treat, I've decided to share with you one of my absolute favourite Viennese ballet photos! You can find it over on the www.pink-tutu.com website, a beautiful snapshot of me twirling beneath the enchanting Vienna skyline.

See you all next Wednesday for another fabulous installment of my pink tutu journey!

Until then, stay sparkling!

Emma xx
