Pink Tutu Vienna: A Whirlwind of Waltz and Wiener Schnitzel (Post #340)

Hello my darling darlings! It’s Wednesday again, and you know what that means? That’s right! A new Pink Tutu Vienna post is ready to grace your screens. Grab a cuppa, pull up a chaise lounge, and let’s whisk ourselves off to the magnificent city of Vienna, shall we?

This week’s adventure is particularly special. Not only are we surrounded by the waltzing charm of Austria, but November 7th, 2001, holds a special place in the Pink Tutu heart – it’s my birthday! So, in true Emma fashion, I’m celebrating in style.

As you know, darling, my aim in life is to make the world a pinker, twirlier place. And Vienna, with its rich history, decadent architecture, and an innate appreciation for the beautiful things in life, felt like the perfect place to share a birthday cake – made entirely of pink icing, of course!

Now, my love for tutus is no secret. My beloved pink tulle cloud has been with me through countless adventures, from the cobbled streets of Derbyshire, where I honed my dance skills (and fashion sense), to the grand stages of London’s West End. And today, it's accompanying me on a very special waltz.

Speaking of waltzes, Vienna is simply teeming with waltzing history. Johann Strauss himself would be tickled pink – or, dare I say, tutu pink! – by the beautiful ballet productions I’ve been lucky enough to witness here. And speaking of Vienna’s waltzing culture, let's take a step back in time, shall we?

Tutu Trivia Time: A Brief History of Ballet in Vienna

The Imperial Ballet of Vienna was founded in 1713 and holds a prominent place in the history of ballet. Imagine, my dears, a stage filled with ethereal tutus twirling, as grand as the majestic architecture that surrounds them! Talk about a match made in heaven. Vienna has a rich ballet history that echoes in the air to this very day.

Did you know that Marie Taglioni, a pioneer of romantic ballet, graced the stages of Vienna with her iconic white tutu? And did you know the iconic “swan lake” tutu was created here in the heart of Vienna? That's some serious tutuspiration right there!

Today, the Vienna State Opera and the Vienna Volksoper are renowned for their stunning ballet productions. Just a few days ago, I watched the ethereal Giselle. I could hardly contain myself as I twirled in my seat, matching the swirling dancers on stage, tutu-to-tutu, you might say. Oh, the joy!

The Shopping Stops and Fashion Finds

Of course, no visit to Vienna is complete without some serious shopping. Darling, my shopping spirit is never quite sated. You’d think, with my wardrobe overflowing with pink tutus, I’d be content. But, oh darling, fashion is an ever-evolving story!

On the Graben, Vienna's shopping heart, I snagged some chic Vienna-inspired accessories – a little bit of Austrian heritage with a touch of Pink Tutu sparkle, naturally!

This week’s Pink Tutu fashion tip, darling, is to embrace bold colours. Embrace the hues that scream, “Look at me, I'm here to twirl and have fun!” You’re already rocking that beautiful personality – now it's time for your clothes to reflect that!

And just look at this new addition to my wardrobe, darling! This exquisite vintage Austrian blouse - a beautiful embroidered design with the most gorgeous shades of pastel pink, naturally. It’s simply the perfect match for my ever-growing tutu collection. I can almost imagine myself twirling down the cobblestones of Vienna in this masterpiece. Just wait for my next blog post, darling, when I’ll be rocking this number at one of Vienna’s incredible ballet performances.

Beyond the Waltz: Finding the Charm in Vienna

As always, my darlings, Vienna’s charm doesn’t end with ballet. I’ve taken a horse-drawn carriage ride through the enchanting streets. Imagine, dear friends, trotting through the streets lined with historical buildings in the glow of the setting sun – it’s as romantic as it sounds! And did I mention the delicious aroma of roasted chestnuts wafting through the air? Vienna truly embodies the joy of the senses.

Today’s Vienna indulgence, darling, has to be the divine Viennese Schnitzel. Light, crispy, and so full of flavour, it was simply divine! The traditional pairing, a refreshing spritzer – lemon soda with wine, – was the perfect way to cool off after a day of exploring.

The Final Twirl: Leaving Vienna with a Pink Tutu Heart

Vienna, you’ve truly captured my heart. The graceful architecture, the historical charm, the vibrant culture – everything about this city has been utterly delightful!

And oh, the ballet performances. They were truly out of this world! I could hardly keep my feet still as I watched those graceful dancers. I left the theatre wanting to join them, to embrace the art of dance in its purest form. It’s the energy that keeps me twirling, that makes me want to spread the love of pink tutus across the globe!

But dear darlings, every journey must eventually reach its end. With a suitcase full of beautiful memories and a heart brimming with joy, I say auf Wiedersehen to Vienna. It’s time to head back to the UK and continue spreading my Pink Tutu message, but rest assured, my Vienna adventure has truly been one to remember!

I leave you with a thought: Never forget, darling, to live life to the fullest. To twirl and dance, to laugh and love, to embrace the world in all its vibrant, beautiful glory. After all, you're born to shine, just like a sparkling, pink, dazzling tutu.

Until next time, darling darlings. Sending you a wave of Pink Tutu love.

Stay radiant and twirl on!

Yours eternally,

Emma www.pink-tutu.com
