Vienna, my darling! Post 342
Hello, my lovely readers! Welcome back to Pink Tutu Vienna, your weekly dose of all things pink, tutus and, of course, Vienna! This Wednesday marks my 342nd blog post - can you believe it? It's like a little pink ballet shoe marking time, ticking over week by week, full of Viennese enchantment.
This week, I've been whirling through Vienna, twirling like a leaf caught in a waltz! It's all thanks to my beautiful ballet performances at the stunning Theater an der Wien. The audience loved my "Pink Flamingo" routine - all bright pink plumage and leg extensions. Let's just say, Vienna went wild!
But even after a performance, my love for this beautiful city doesn't stop. After all, what's a ballerina to do after a show? Why, go shopping, of course! And you can imagine my delight when I discovered this incredible vintage clothing shop in the heart of the city. I practically fell head-over-heels into a gorgeous, full-skirted lilac dress with puffed sleeves and a satin bodice - absolutely perfect for a Viennese soirée. My tutus might be pink, but my style knows no bounds!
And talking of bounds, I even took a break from all things ballet (imagine!) and ventured out into the countryside for a day. Picture it: me, in my most flamboyant pink tutu, riding through the rolling hills on a beautiful, gentle horse! Now, that's a scene right out of a romantic ballet, don't you think?
The crisp, autumn air felt delightful against my skin as I galloped through the golden meadows, a perfect picture of whimsical femininity. The colours of Vienna are simply stunning this time of year.
Speaking of enchanting scenes, have I mentioned the Schönbrunn Palace? Well, it's as magnificent as ever, a true fairy tale castle set against a backdrop of dazzling autumn leaves. I'm always in awe of the palace's history, the grandeur of the Imperial Family, the stories of princesses and waltzing balls! My love for all things "ballet and the waltz" is truly born from these tales of romance and intrigue.
This brings me to an exciting development! The Vienna State Opera is hosting a special lecture this Friday night - all about the ballet costumes and choreography of "Sleeping Beauty"! My imagination is already buzzing with tutus, tiaras and magical choreography. I'm even thinking of recreating one of the costumes from the ballet for a special post next week! I can’t wait!
But, before I get carried away with dreams of tulle and silk, I need to take you back to my beloved home of Derbyshire, England. The weather's turned colder, the days shorter, and the countryside's turning into a magical world of fiery hues. I can almost smell the scent of wood smoke, warm cakes baking and the earthy scent of the rolling hills. And you know what else I've been thinking about?
Well, a certain pink tutu needs to visit my Derbyshire roots again soon! I have this wild idea of bringing together a troupe of local ballerinas, dressing them all in pink tutus, and performing a grand "Pink Tutu Celebration" in the centre of our beautiful Peak District. Just picture it! We'd have stunning autumn landscapes as our backdrop, our tutus twirling against the fiery foliage, and our graceful moves captivating the locals. Now that's something to get excited about!
But for now, Vienna, I'm all yours. And, as usual, I leave you with this: Always wear your pink tutus with pride, darling! It’s a statement of joy, a reminder to dance through life and, most importantly, a testament to the incredible beauty that shines within you.
Until next week, darlings, let's keep this pink ballet dream alive!
XOXO
