Vienna Waltz: Pink Tutu Travels, Post 346

Oh, darling readers, Vienna! The city of waltzes, music, and decadent coffee houses is whispering promises of culture and enchantment, and let me tell you, this little ballerina is ready to twirl.

This week's #PinkTutuVienna adventure starts with a whiff of that fresh, crisp air that only a European winter can offer. I'm tucked away in a charming little hotel in the Innere Stadt (the heart of Vienna) - it’s a short walk to the Opera House and the State Ballet - so it’s literally like I've stepped into a real-life fairytale!

The last train journey from Budapest was absolutely delightful - I must confess I went a little overboard with the suitcase packing - five tulle tutus (you can never have too many, can you?) plus all my finest dresses and glittery heels. I even found a charming local shop that sold little pink fluffy ear muffs - simply divine!

You see, I believe that every journey is an opportunity to spread the joy of the tutu - and what better way to do that than in a city famous for its elegance and flair? So, naturally, I spent the entire train ride trying to convert fellow passengers to the beauty of a good pink tutu, explaining how they are not just for dancers, they're a state of mind!

Oh, I just realised I haven't told you what's happening in Vienna this week! Today is the 19th December - meaning Christmas markets galore, carol singers filling the cobbled streets with melodies, and the most glorious, shimmering displays of lights you've ever seen! The aroma of roasted chestnuts and spiced wine hangs thick in the air, promising warmth and merriment.

Speaking of merriment, tomorrow evening, I'm attending a performance by the Vienna State Opera Ballet, my absolute dream! This performance is "Giselle", and let me tell you, it's going to be absolutely divine. I've even been to a few ballet classes here already. I always try to learn some steps wherever I go, so I’m getting ready to twirl and leap alongside the Viennese ballerinas - with a few extra twirls, of course!

Later this week, I’m going to explore the Vienna State Opera itself. I just adore ballet history, don’t you? The history of dance and costume design is so captivating, and I can’t wait to delve into the archives of one of Europe’s most prestigious theatres. Perhaps, I will even uncover some vintage tutu inspiration for my next collection!

My fellow pink-tutu lovers, if you find yourself in Vienna, remember this: life is simply too short for beige! Embrace the sparkle, the glamour, and the joy of wearing something that truly expresses your spirit! You can even find a pink tutu or two in the shops here! (Whisper it quietly, but the vintage tutus in Vienna's flea markets are incredible.)

Don’t forget, to find out where my travels take me next, join me again on Wednesday for another dose of pink-tutu fun and inspiration!

Now, darling readers, excuse me while I step out for a little Vienna waltz myself - and yes, I am wearing a tutu. What else?

Love,

Emma

Pink Tutu Tips:

Viennese waltz in style: Don't let your skirt drag during a twirl! Use a pretty, discreet safety pin to hold it out of the way.

Shopping spree: I recommend going to "Mariahilfer Straße" for some fashionable pink accessories - you'll find everything from gloves to hair bows!

Food glorious food: I can't resist indulging in Wiener Schnitzel at least once during a Vienna visit. The Viennese are obsessed with coffee - you’ll find it everywhere.

Tutu transformation: Remember, pink tutus are not just for dancers, but a statement for any occasion! Try layering one over your favourite skirt or even a winter coat for a fun pop of color!
