Vienna Waltz: A Tutu-tastic Time in the City of Music (Post #354)
Good Wednesday morning, darling tutu enthusiasts! This week, Emma here, your trusty Pink Tutu blogger, is whisked away to the heart of Europe - the enchanting Vienna! Oh, the sheer joy of train travel! Itās my favourite way to see the world, whizzing past rolling countryside with my pink tutu fluttering gently by the window. I think this is what the birds must feel like, except they don't get to wear tutus.
As you know, Iām a sucker for anything with a historical past, and Vienna, oh my, is positively brimming with it. Imagine cobblestone streets, grand palaces with glittering chandeliers, and of course, the unmistakable Viennese waltzes filling the air. Itās like stepping into a fairytale! Iām not just saying this, darlings, the air here literally feels different. A little bit lighter, a bit more romantic. Maybe itās the waltzes. š
Speaking of which, my Vienna adventure has already started with a trip to the Vienna State Opera, an absolutely stunning building that made my inner ballerina giddy with delight. The acoustics were magnificent, and the show was utterly enchanting. I haven't seen so many beautiful, sweeping costumes in a single place since I discovered the National Ballet Museum in Derbyshire! I swear, the grand costumes of the ballet here have a certain air of elegance about them, even more than a Parisian ball.
And let's not forget the city itself! Itās just begging to be explored with a pink tutu twirling, wouldnāt you agree? From the magnificent Schƶnbrunn Palace and the Hofburg to the majestic St. Stephen's Cathedral, thereās a photo opportunity around every corner. Imagine the shots! The "Tutu by the Vienna State Opera," "Tutu under the Giant Ferris Wheel" ā pure photo-shoot magic, darling.
Iāve already picked out a little cafĆ© right beside the opera house for afternoon tea, complete with Viennese pastries. Did I tell you about my absolute obsession with those? So light and delicate, yet bursting with flavour. Just like me, in a pink tutu, naturally.
The other day, I stumbled across a little ballet shop, a veritable Aladdinās cave of dancewear. I, of course, went a bit tutu-crazy and found myself holding an incredible blush pink, tulle number, perfect for waltzing in. Itās just what I need to complement my vintage Chanel jacket and little black beret ā that Parisian touch always adds a hint of glamour to my look! I couldnāt resist snapping a few pics in the window for my social media darlings. Letās be real, a tutu looks pretty good anywhere!
What's on Today?
Well, darling, todayās all about the Spanish Riding School, the ultimate show of grace and elegance! Iām beyond excited to see those Lipizzaner horses strutting their stuff. What is it about these graceful steeds that fills me with so much wonder? Maybe it's their undeniable royal presence or perhaps the effortless elegance of their movements. Or maybe itās because, dare I say, they can waltz too. Just imagine ā I'd love to twirl with them. It'd be an absolute ballet dream.
Of course, after the show, Iām heading straight to a little tea room on Stephansplatz. The place is known for its homemade strawberry tarts ā perfect fuel for another afternoon of exploring! Tonight Iām planning to go see the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra play a classical masterpiece under the Vienna Opera house.
The best part? Vienna is positively abuzz with ballet! You'd be amazed at how many ballets I've seen already! Itās as if everyone here knows how to waltz or at least secretly wants to. Every afternoon feels like a grand waltz right out of a Johann Strauss score! I've already signed up for a ballet class myself, at the gorgeous āThe Tanzraumā in the Innere Stadt district, for a taste of proper Viennese dancing. Itās the ultimate ballet immersion experience, you know!
One thing's for sure, darling - Vienna has me utterly captivated. Thereās so much to see, do, and, yes, dance! From the dazzling architecture and the majestic waltzes to the delicate pastries and the sheer joy of simply wandering the city, Vienna has captured my heart and spun it into a dizzying, pink-tutu filled whirlwind.
Oh, and remember, darling, I have one ultimate mission: to get the entire world wearing pink tutus. It's a pink revolution, my friends, and Vienna's magical waltzes are only going to propel it forward!
See you next Wednesday, for more tutu-filled adventures. Stay chic, darling!
P.S: Did I mention that Vienna is known for vintage clothing too? I can already imagine the gorgeous silk scarves and stunning hats. I can practically feel my collection getting a makeover just thinking about it! Maybe a little waltz dress will grace my wardrobe soon! š
