Pink Tutu Vienna: Blog Post #430 – Whirlwind Waltz in Vienna!
Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu-wearing blogger Emma, reporting live from the magical city of Vienna! This week has been an absolute dream – I’ve twirled, I've waltzed, and I've discovered a whole new level of fashion inspiration, all within the elegant walls of this stunning Austrian capital.
So let's get straight into it – you won’t believe the incredible things I’ve seen!
This past Wednesday, I took the scenic route from my charming guesthouse to the Vienna State Opera, whizzing through the streets in my new fuchsia tutu - it perfectly complemented the floral patterned pink sundress I’d found in a vintage boutique just around the corner. It was the most exquisite outfit – perfect for soaking in the atmosphere! The opera house itself is breathtaking; think grand chandeliers, shimmering gold accents, and an air of hushed anticipation. Oh, the excitement! I could barely contain myself.
I’d snagged tickets to see “The Magic Flute,” a Mozart masterpiece that had me captivated from the very first note. The costumes were dazzling – plumes, shimmering gowns, and of course, gorgeous tutus! I felt completely inspired and ready to create my own version of these fantastic outfits – after all, fashion and dance are two passions I can’t resist!
Afterwards, I dined at a delightful little café nestled within the cobbled lanes. I was positively enchanted by the charming courtyard - a flurry of colourful blossoms, whispering fountains, and even a playful fountain of a whimsical pink piglet! It was like something out of a storybook.
The next day, I woke up feeling energised and ready to explore more of this wonderful city. A carriage ride was a must! I mean, who wouldn’t want to experience the grace and elegance of Vienna from the perspective of a splendid horse-drawn carriage? The trotted hooves clopping on the cobblestones provided a symphony of sounds – an orchestral experience for the senses. We wound through Vienna's Historic Center, admiring the magnificent St. Stephen's Cathedral and the impressive Hofburg Palace.
In the evening, I joined the most delightful group of fellow ballet enthusiasts. It was at The Vienna Dance Academy. We discussed everything ballet: from the history of tutus to famous ballerina's from the 19th century - you know me, I can’t resist any tutu related chat! We laughed, shared stories, and twirled around in our tutus, all united by a shared love for the graceful art of ballet.
But Vienna’s charm wasn’t limited to grand opera houses or enchanting carriage rides - even the everyday scene felt magical through my pink-tinted glasses. The bustling market square was bursting with vibrant colours – vendors overflowing with flowers, ripe fruits, and the finest local Viennese delicacies. It felt so wonderfully authentic, almost like stepping into a painting. And the pastries, oh, the pastries! From creamy strudels to airy gateaux – my tastebuds danced with delight!
My love for Vienna blossomed even more as the sun set, bathing the city in a warm glow. The cityscape twinkled with lights, reflecting a million shimmering stars on the surface of the beautiful Danube river - and I had the perfect outfit for the occasion, of course: a stunningly beautiful midnight blue tutu paired with a long, elegant ivory dress. I strolled along the banks, the gentle breeze whispering tales of emperors and waltzes, lost in the beauty of this majestic city.
But my tutu adventures didn’t end there! I took the chance to watch a performance at the renowned Schönbrunn Palace - and it was an experience I won't soon forget. We were transported to a time of exquisite ballrooms, royal etiquette, and waltzes spun by elegant couples – it felt like I was walking through a fairytale.
And, just to give you an idea of what my fellow pink-tutu enthusiasts are wearing at the moment – it seems white tulle with hints of pink, yellow, and lavender are trending, perfect for afternoon picnics in Schönbrunn Palace’s gardens! It truly was an experience straight out of my dreams, from waltzing princesses to strolling in picturesque gardens, Vienna is a truly enchanted city. I even discovered a stunning pink and silver ball gown in a charming vintage shop nestled amongst the * cobbled streets* - I just couldn't resist, so of course, it's already packing its bags for a spot in my tutu collection!
So as I'm settling in for a quiet night, I’m brimming with a feeling of sheer joy and inspiration. I'm so grateful to be here in this whimsical waltz of a city, surrounded by so much beauty, so much tutu inspiration!
Stay tuned for more Vienna-inspired posts next week! In the meantime, I encourage you to take inspiration from my Vienna adventures and wear your own pink tutu – it's never too late to embrace the whimsical side of life, my darling!
Much love, Emma x
