Pink Tutu Vienna - Post #540: Waltz Me Away!

Hello darlings! It's Wednesday, and that means a brand new post from your favourite pink-tutu-wearing blogger, Emma! This week, I'm whisking you away to Vienna, the heart of waltzes and magnificent palaces. It's my fifth time in this stunning city, and it never ceases to enchant me with its historic grandeur, bustling coffee houses, and, of course, incredible ballet!

Remember how I told you about my lifelong mission to spread the joy of pink tutus? Well, Vienna seems like the perfect place to start! As I sashayed through the streets, I couldn't help but imagine the graceful ballerinas of the Vienna State Opera swirling their tulle skirts in their extravagant productions. I felt like I'd stepped back in time, a whirlwind of elegance and romance.

Oh, the history here! You can't throw a stone in Vienna without hitting a palace or an opera house steeped in fascinating tales. Yesterday, I wandered through the Hofburg Palace, the Habsburg emperors' winter residence, marveling at its opulent chambers, royal apartments, and the incredible treasury. I could picture the ladies of the court in their finery, fluttering their fans and gossiping in hushed tones.

I felt like I was on a page from a ballet storybook! Imagine my delight, darling, when I stumbled upon the Vienna State Opera House itself. The building is absolutely magnificent, a monument to Viennese art and culture. Sadly, tickets for tonight's ballet performance are sold out, but I'm determined to secure some for my next visit. There's something truly magical about seeing a ballet performance in the birthplace of the waltz. It's almost as magical as dancing in a pink tutu yourself!

Now, let's talk about the fashion. I confess, I went a little bit wild in the Vienna shops, especially the ones selling exquisite vintage gowns. The styles here are just so elegant and feminine, and I just can't resist picking up a few pieces to add to my ever-growing collection. I can't wait to style them for my next performance, I just know they'll add an extra touch of glamour.

One of the joys of my trips is discovering new ways to travel. This time, I indulged in a horse-drawn carriage ride through the Old Town. Imagine, a carriage adorned with crimson velvet, a handsome white steed pulling us gently through the cobblestone streets. It was the most enchanting experience! And it brought back memories of my childhood, when I used to dress up in my ballet tutu and pretend to be a princess, riding through my little Derbyshire village on a pretend white horse!

Of course, no visit to Vienna is complete without sampling the delectable pastries and Sachertorte. The cafés are an essential part of Viennese culture, buzzing with conversation and the aroma of freshly baked treats. I swear, the coffee here is the most potent I've ever had!

Now, to keep things interesting, I’ve decided to share a little fashion tip with you today. Since we're talking about tutus, why not channel a bit of ballet magic into your everyday style? You don’t need a full-on pink tutu for a bit of fun. Just add a splash of colour and sparkle to your wardrobe! I love a touch of tulle around the waist, or a cute pair of ballet flats paired with a vintage frock. Trust me, a touch of femininity can go a long way!

Don’t forget, darlings, to join me next Wednesday for another instalment of Pink Tutu Vienna! I’m planning a grand day at Schönbrunn Palace and a visit to the Museum of Art History, followed by an evening of exquisite Viennese waltzing. Until then, wear your tutus with pride, stay fabulous, and remember: the world needs a bit more pink!

Much love, Emma www.pink-tutu.com
