Pink Tutu Vienna: Whirlwind Wednesday, May 3rd, 2006! (Post #574)

Guten Tag, darlings!

It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another installment of Pink Tutu Vienna! This week has been a complete whirlwind, and I wouldn't have it any other way! I've been flitting around this gorgeous city, indulging my passions for ballet, shopping, and, of course, all things pink and tutu-tastic!

Vienna Waltz into My Heart

The cobblestone streets of Vienna have been a delightful backdrop for my adventures this week. Every corner is an explosion of history, with grand buildings whispering tales of emperors and waltzes. I even popped into the Hofburg Palace - talk about majestic! The opulence nearly made me faint! (Of course, in the most stylish and ballerina-esque way possible, I might add!)

Ballet Dreams in the City of Music

You know how much I adore ballet, right? And Vienna? Well, let's just say it's heaven for a pink tutu-wearing ballet enthusiast! This week, I took in a performance at the Vienna State Opera, which was absolutely divine! The grace and athleticism of the dancers were breathtaking, and the music was pure magic. I could have watched for hours!

Shopping Spree for Tutu Delights

Speaking of delightful things... have you ever been on a shopping spree in Vienna? Oh my word! This city is a treasure trove for a fashion-loving ballerina like myself. From quaint boutiques with handmade accessories to designer havens boasting exquisite evening wear, my credit card hasn't seen this much action since my trip to Paris last year!

I even snagged the most fabulous pink tutu at a charming vintage shop tucked away in a little side street. It's silk and lace, and it has a little pink ribbon on the back! It’s just perfect for a night out under the Viennese moonlight!

Travel Tales from a Tutu-Wearing Tourist

My favourite part of this whole Vienna escapade? The journey here! I took a glorious train ride all the way from Derbyshire. I can't say no to a leisurely train journey. I find something so elegant and peaceful about it. Plus, I can sit comfortably in my tutu, no matter how many croissants I eat!

Now, before I continue sharing all the amazing happenings this week, I must reveal to you the pièce de résistance, the reason I chose this Wednesday to blog:

Vienna’s Magical Spring Ball!

That's right, darlings! Vienna's most prestigious ball, the Opernball, is taking place tonight! You bet I'll be there in all my pink tutu glory. I hear there will be dancing, champagne, and enough tulle to make even the most seasoned tutu enthusiast dizzy! I am practically vibrating with excitement!

Oh, but you simply HAVE to hear about my outfit! A bespoke masterpiece designed by none other than the renowned Viennese dressmaker, Franziska Schmidt! It's a swirling symphony of tulle, silk, and sequins, with a vibrant pink hue that will simply make your eyes sparkle.

Now, if you'll excuse me, darlings, I must be off! A true pink tutu warrior needs a power nap to conquer a ball like this! Until next week, I wish you all a wonderful and fashionable week.

Always remember, with a pink tutu on your feet, you can waltz right into anything!

Lots of love,

Emma xx
