Hello darlings! It’s Emma, your Pink Tutu Princess, waltzing in from Vienna, Austria! Today’s Wednesday, June 28th, 2006, which means it's time for another blog post from your favourite pink-clad, tutu-loving travel companion.
Vienna, oh Vienna! It’s as if a fairy godmother sprinkled magic dust all over this city! From the stunning architecture to the lively cafes, Vienna is a feast for the eyes and the soul. You’ll be delighted to know that even here in this cultural powerhouse, pink tutus are very much in vogue. I mean, I have been wearing this gorgeous fuchsia number, the skirt swirling like a thousand blossoms in the wind, and let me tell you, I’ve caused a bit of a stir. Everyone’s been stopping me for selfies!
Train Journey - My Pink Tutu, and a Gallop into Vienna!My journey here was just as magical. I decided to hop aboard a lovely train journey, like something straight out of a vintage travel poster, all sleek steam and romantic carriages. Of course, my pink tutu, this one with layers of shimmering tulle, looked absolutely magnificent against the backdrop of the green rolling hills. Honestly, my dear readers, even the conductor gave me a beaming smile!
Upon arrival, I felt the urge for an adventure a little different than your usual tourist fare, and you know me, I love to embrace the unexpected. So I hired a horse! Not just any horse, mind you, a handsome, spirited chestnut named "Bruno", and galloped through Vienna's famous Schönbrunn Gardens! I swear, I felt like a princess out of a fairytale, the sun kissing my skin, the wind whistling in my hair, and a giant smile plastered across my face.
Opera, Fashion & Food: A Viennese DelightThe main reason I'm in Vienna, aside from the breathtaking architecture and charm, is of course, the opera! Tonight, I'm attending a performance of "The Magic Flute" at the Vienna State Opera. My fingers are crossed for a delightful and awe-inspiring performance! I've heard the costumes are truly magnificent! Maybe I’ll even inspire a few new outfits! My little black dress is always a great companion for a glamorous opera, but I just had to pack a little extra tulle in my bag for just in case! It’s all about feeling magical and empowered, and what could be more empowering than a fabulous pink tutu?!
Oh, but I can’t forget the delightful fashion! I simply must share this gem: a stunning antique shop called "Vintage Viennese" tucked away on a quaint street, brimming with vintage accessories! I found a beautiful broach - think pearls, crystals, and delicate roses! - which will look perfect with my new pink tutu for tonight's performance!
But fashion aside, Vienna’s culinary delights have been tempting my senses! I have to say, Vienna’s iconic Sachertorte is simply heavenly. I had a slice at the cafe "Sacher" itself. Honestly, it was a taste of pure indulgence! A dark chocolate delight with a layer of apricot jam, all served on a beautiful porcelain plate.
Speaking of my dear readers, my Vienna diary is quickly filling up with so much inspiration. You all deserve to be in the know on these magical discoveries. It makes me so happy to share the beauty of the world, from enchanting cobbled streets to graceful swan boats on glistening canals, through the eyes of a pink tutu princess! I think it is time to say, “Tada!” as I head off to get ready for the opera!
