Pink Tutu Vienna: Waltz me away, Vienna! (Post #597)

Hello darlings! It’s Wednesday, and that means a new blog post from your favourite pink-tutu-wearing ballerina, Emma! This week I’ve traded the rolling Derbyshire hills for the elegant curves of Vienna, and let me tell you, it’s a fairytale come true. Imagine a city bursting with music, history, and the most incredible pastries you’ve ever seen, all dusted with the charm of a waltz and the elegance of a Vienna Opera Ball. It’s a true dream for a ballet-loving, pink-tutu-wearing fashionista like myself!

My journey to Vienna began, naturally, with a train journey. I simply adore the rhythm of the tracks and the chance to get lost in a book while gazing at the scenery whizzing past. I can’t imagine a better way to travel! When I arrived in Vienna, I found myself falling head over heels (pun intended, my dears!) for the city’s architectural beauty. The stately buildings, the magnificent opera house, the intricate gardens - everything is like a scene straight out of a ballet!

Speaking of ballet, one of my absolute highlights in Vienna was, of course, a performance at the world-renowned Vienna State Opera. The sheer grandeur of the building, with its gold-plated decor and stunning chandeliers, was enough to make any ballet lover's heart soar! The performance itself was magical, the dancers’ graceful movements weaving a tale of passion and longing with every arabesque and pirouette. The costumes, too, were stunning - shimmering with rich silks and glittering with jewels. And let’s not forget the beautiful music, transporting the entire audience to another realm! I could have watched the performance all night long and not wished for a single thing to change.

And speaking of costumes, let’s talk tutus! I know what you’re thinking - a trip to Vienna is all about the grand opera costumes, but trust me, Vienna is a fashion lover’s dream! I found some of the most beautiful ballet tutus in a quaint shop hidden away in a cobblestone street. Imagine: fluffy, airy tulle, each one a delicate work of art, and not a single bit of pink out of place. Oh, and can we talk about the selection of handmade bonnets? I simply had to take home a collection of feathered delights to add a dash of Vienna to my daily ballet routine.

Now, every great journey needs its fair share of indulgence, and Vienna, my dears, knows how to spoil. I’ve been living it up, tasting my way through the city's legendary coffee houses. The rich Viennese coffee is the perfect pairing for a slice of decadent Sachertorte, a must-try when in Vienna! I mean, how could a girl like me resist a dessert with such a stunning name? It's like the soundtrack of my life!

Of course, no trip to Vienna would be complete without a carriage ride. I hopped into a horse-drawn carriage and rode through the charming streets, feeling like a princess from a bygone era. The horses were absolutely beautiful and so gentle, and it was so peaceful gliding through the city with the sun on my face. I felt so inspired that I even had to jot down some new moves in my ballet journal for my next performance!

My travels in Vienna are far from over. I plan on exploring more hidden gems, experiencing the city’s famous waltz culture, and indulging in even more fashion delights. My dears, this city has truly captured my heart! I’m feeling so inspired by Vienna's charm, history and culture. This trip has filled my creative spirit and given me so much to think about for my next ballet performances and fashion adventures.

Stay tuned for more fun from Vienna, my lovelies! I'll be posting a full review of my recent performance at the local theatre (a fundraising show, of course!) soon. After all, I have to share my journey with you, it's like sharing the world of ballet, one pink tutu at a time! Until next Wednesday, keep dancing, my sweet friends!

Pink Tutu Travel Tip:

Vienna is the city of waltz, so why not embrace the romanticism? Don’t be afraid to slip on a pair of sparkly shoes and join in the fun! After all, dancing makes the world go round!

XOXO Emma
