Pink Tutu Vienna - Post 779: A Viennese Waltz With A Pink Twist!

Hello, darlings! Itā€™s Wednesday again, and Iā€™m back from a whirl of Viennese delights. Oh, this city has stolen my heart with its charming cobblestones, its magnificent music and of course, its divine array of ballet performances!

Last week, I shared my experiences in Salzburg, a breathtaking journey through music and history. Now, Viennaā€™s elegant embrace calls me once more. As you know, my love for pink tutus knows no bounds, but Vienna, my dears, is practically overflowing with tutu inspiration!

Just last night, I waltzed through the Vienna State Opera (with a dash of pink in my own outfit, naturally) for a truly captivating performance of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake. My goodness, the sheer skill of the dancers, the opulent costumes, the stunning set design ā€“ it was magical! I couldnā€™t help but dream of swirling across the stage in a shimmering pink tutu myself, perhaps a blush pink with hints of silver to match the glittering chandeliers!

Before the show, I indulged in a little Viennese luxury, sampling the delectable treats of the Sacher-Torte at Hotel Sacher Wien, which is famous for its pink-hued pastries and beautiful tea rooms.

Now, you may be wondering how I afford all these extravagant trips, well, you know I canā€™t resist a good show, right? This week I performed with a local dance company, twirling and pirouetting in my trusty pink tutu, and I must say, it was a truly magical evening. Iā€™m so grateful to the community here for welcoming me into their world of artistry. Itā€™s moments like this that remind me that life really is a performance ā€“ a beautiful, ever-evolving ballet, with the potential to be truly spectacular!

And talking of spectacles, Iā€™ve stumbled across the most darling antique shops in the heart of the city. Each one is a treasure trove of vintage tutus, old photographs of ballerinas, and elegant dance shoes. Itā€™s a joy to browse, and I just canā€™t resist picking up a few gems ā€“ a vintage pink ribbon, a feather boa for my dance practice, perhaps a beautifully embroidered tutu from the 1950s for my ever-growing collection.

This weekend, I plan to join the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra at the Musikverein concert hall. Can you imagine, a symphony orchestra and me, in my signature pink tutu! This truly embodies the Vienna I see in my dreams, the beauty, the elegance, the perfect blend of grace and sophistication.

Of course, no trip to Vienna is complete without a horse-drawn carriage ride. Thereā€™s something so magical about traversing the cobblestone streets, the gentle clip-clop of horses' hooves, and the breeze in your hair as you pass majestic palaces and hidden gardens. It feels like stepping into a classic ballet scene ā€“ the beauty of it!

On Thursday, Iā€™ll take a day trip to the charming town of Baden, which boasts a majestic 19th-century spa, reminiscent of those gorgeous ballrooms I see in vintage ballets. And on Friday, Iā€™ll visit the Schƶnbrunn Palace ā€“ it's almost like a fairy-tale castle, complete with gorgeous gardens that just scream out for twirling! It will be perfect for a photo shoot with my favorite pink tulle and the most majestic backdrop you can imagine!

However, this isnā€™t just about me and my sartorial choices. My biggest dream is to share my passion for dance, my love of all things pink, with the whole world! I dream of a world where everyone embraces the fun, the freedom, and the expression of a tutu ā€“ especially a pink one! Imagine the possibilities, dear reader, just picture yourself gliding through life in a vibrant pink tutu ā€“ doesnā€™t it just make you smile?

As for this weekend, I will be at the Volksoper Wien enjoying a performance of ā€œThe Nutcrackerā€. Iā€™m particularly looking forward to the snow scene with the snowflakes dancing all around, especially if I can find one with a bit of pink!

Oh, and did I mention I have already booked tickets for next monthā€™s performance of the iconic ā€œGiselleā€ at the Burgtheater, another historic treasure in the heart of Vienna? Itā€™s an absolute must-see, even without my personal, deeply ingrained, and almost entirely self-imposed obsession with pink!

I've also started to plan a ballet class with a local instructor. You've got to have a strong foundation, right? Imagine a group of us all wearing tutus, a symphony of pink! We'll be twirling, leaping and swaying across the studio, spreading our love for ballet and, of course, a touch of pink, throughout Vienna!

My dear readers, until next week, stay pink!

With love and twirls,

Emma xx
