Post #883: Vienna Waltz - A Whirlwind of Pink and Passion!

Hello my darling darlings! Emma here, your favourite pink tutu-clad ballerina, broadcasting live from the beautiful city of Vienna! I simply had to whisk myself away to this haven of waltzes, waltzing, and... well, more waltzing. I'm obsessed, you guys.

As always, I’m travelling in style - a train journey straight from Derbyshire to Vienna. There’s something so magical about travelling by train. The rhythmic clatter of the wheels against the tracks, the rushing scenery flitting by, and the endless cups of tea (it's always tea time somewhere, right?) - I simply cannot get enough of it! It’s like a ballet in itself, the gentle sway of the carriage mimicking the movement of a dancer.

And of course, I wore a pink tutu! I knew it was going to be a magical journey, so naturally, I had to make an entrance! It was a soft pink this time, with delicate sequins catching the sunlight - perfect for reflecting the twinkle in my eye.

Now, onto Vienna! Let me tell you, it's a city that truly embraces elegance. Cobblestone streets, grand cafes filled with the aroma of Viennese coffee, the iconic Vienna State Opera House… and speaking of the Opera House, oh my goodness, you wouldn’t believe the magnificent performance I witnessed last night! It was "Die Fledermaus" by Johann Strauss, and it simply stole my heart.

It's like the entire city waltzes! Every building, every street, every melody, every café, it’s all steeped in history, artistry, and an intoxicating romantic charm. Vienna itself feels like it's waiting for a ballerina to step onto the grand stage and perform!

This morning I donned my most dramatic pink tutu (it had feathers, you guys!) and hit the shops. Shopping in Vienna is an absolute delight! Think exquisite gowns in luxurious fabrics, the softest lace imaginable, and an abundance of charming boutiques selling treasures like delicate vintage jewellery. I could spend days in this city just browsing, trying on, and buying everything in sight! It was so very much a ballet dancer’s dream come true!

But, the real joy of this trip came from experiencing a bit of Viennese ballet history. Today I spent a wonderful afternoon in the Vienna State Opera House, the grandest of them all, listening to stories about the renowned ballerinas who have graced this stage. Their passion, dedication, and artistry – truly inspiring! I even ventured into the world-famous Vienna Ballet Museum. The sheer volume of tutus in that museum was almost overwhelming!

My love for the history of dance has been fuelled by these magnificent treasures - tutus in velvet and satin, embroidered with exquisite detail. It truly is like being swept away to a different era, and I, for one, couldn't resist indulging in a little tutu try-on myself. Let's just say, there was a lot of giggling!

This is the beauty of Vienna - it’s not just about the elegant buildings and delicious Viennese pastries (although those are incredible!). It’s also about a shared love for dance and the artistic expression of it in all its glorious forms. It's the stories that the streets whisper, the secrets that the grand palaces hold, and the elegant beauty that radiates from every corner.

I even tried on a magnificent black tutu and a gorgeous grey tutu from my collection this week! But it’s so hot right now in Vienna so I couldn’t wear them outside but hopefully I will be able to for our lovely horse-drawn carriage ride next week.

This wonderful city feels like a waltz itself, a whirlwind of colours, culture, and delicious delicacies, where every street corner invites you to join in the dance! Oh, and speaking of dancing... I've signed up for a waltzing lesson! Yes, you heard that right! It seemed like the perfect way to truly embrace the Viennese spirit. My feet may need some training, but my spirit is definitely waltzing with excitement!

Tomorrow I'm going to watch the beautiful dancing fountains outside of the Schonbrunn Palace in the sunshine and then have a beautiful long lunch in the gardens in a gorgeous, pink silk dress that I bought from the gorgeous pink shop I found in Vienna! You know I'll share all about it with you!

Keep sparkling my dears,

Emma

P.S. Don't forget, I love seeing you wear pink tutus! Show off your tutu style! Tag your pictures #pinktutues and I’ll try my best to feature your beautiful tutus on my blog! I might even use them on my own ballet blog as examples!
