Pink Tutu Vienna - Post #905: waltzing through Vienna 🩰

Guten Tag, darlings!

Emma here, back from a whirlwind trip to Vienna, a city that’s got it all - gorgeous architecture, delectable pastries, and an unbridled passion for classical music. And naturally, I wouldn't be a proper Pink Tutu Ballerina without exploring its ballet scene too!

This week, my fabulous frock was a pale blush tutu with shimmering sequins, paired with a lavender floral top. Perfect for strolling around the Hofburg Palace, feeling like a princess, no? And of course, I wouldn’t miss out on visiting the Vienna State Opera House - a temple to all things opera and ballet, don't you think? Its stunning neo-Renaissance architecture has to be seen to be believed. I almost felt like I was stepping back in time!

But before I dazzled in Vienna, I had a rather charming adventure getting here! As always, the train journey was absolutely lovely. I got chatting with a friendly family from Salzburg who had come to Vienna for a musical festival. The children were so excited to tell me all about their favourite operas and ballet shows. Honestly, it makes me so happy to see that love for dance and music is thriving, especially in such young people!

The scenery on the way to Vienna was absolutely breathtaking, with rolling green hills, sparkling rivers and majestic castles. I couldn’t help but dream of all the beautiful costumes and music waiting for me in Vienna. I’ve got to say, there’s something so romantic and elegant about traveling by train. It’s all part of the ballet-themed adventures I enjoy!

And speaking of romance, what’s more magical than a ride in a horse-drawn carriage? It’s a quintessentially Viennese experience that makes you feel like you're living in a fairytale. We cruised through the city’s grand squares and along cobblestone streets, the gentle clip-clop of hooves providing the perfect rhythm to my daydreaming.

Of course, I had to make the most of Vienna’s renowned shopping scene! There's a vintage store on every corner - a veritable treasure trove of exquisite clothing, shoes, and hats. And as a true ballerina aficionado, I couldn't resist picking up a few ballerina-inspired pieces - a dainty pearl necklace, a vintage dance bag, and some silk gloves to complete my perfect dance ensemble.

Now, to tell you about the highlight of my Viennese ballet pilgrimage – the Vienna State Opera’s performance of ‘Swan Lake’! The music was sublime, the choreography exquisitely delicate, and the ballerinas, well, simply ethereal! It was a magical evening, one that I will never forget. As for me, my blush tutu, my lavender floral top, and I sat amongst a symphony of silks, satins, and sequins, mesmerised by the graceful dancers.

Vienna, with its stunning ballet productions, captivating architecture, and delicious cuisine (let's not forget those scrumptious Viennese pastries!), is truly a ballerina’s dream. It's a city brimming with artistry and history - and it’s definitely got me dreaming of more tutu-filled travels in the future!

For anyone out there who shares my love of all things pink, all things ballet and all things girly, Vienna is a must-visit. Trust me, darling, this city is truly a delight! And who knows, you might just find your perfect pink tutu nestled away in a vintage boutique on a charming side street.

See you all next Wednesday for another Pink Tutu adventure, from a destination that will certainly put a little sparkle in your life.

And as always, stay beautiful and don't forget to twirl! 🩰
