Pink Tutu Vienna: Post 1011 - A Viennese Waltz in Pink!

Hello darlings!

It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu Vienna adventure, and I'm bursting with excitement to tell you all about my fabulous week in the glorious city of Vienna! I have been dreaming of a trip to this city of culture, history, and of course, music since I was a little girl - my bedroom was actually plastered with photos of the Vienna State Opera and the gorgeous Burgtheater, so you could say I was quite the fan even then.

This week, though, Vienna was a wonderland of waltzes and shopping - I simply couldn't get enough of the gorgeous boutiques and stunning sights!

Now, for those of you who haven't had the pleasure, Vienna is like a delicious chocolate cake, full of layers of delightful surprises - from grand palaces and breathtaking art galleries, to cozy cafes where you can get the best Viennese coffee and a scrumptious sachertorte, it really is the most enchanting city.

My Tutu-tastic Journey

So, how did I get here? You know my motto, right? Itā€™s ā€œtravel the world in a pink tutuā€ (it's true! šŸ˜‰), and I always prefer to go by train or, if possible, horseback!

This time, my journey started in the beautiful Peak District of Derbyshire, where I am originally from. After packing my bag full of tutus and shimmering dresses, I embarked on a charming train ride through the English countryside - I have to say, the rolling hills and fields looked especially enchanting bathed in golden autumn sunshine.

Upon arriving in Vienna, I immediately took a cab to the very grand Hotel Sacher Vienna, because honestly, darlings, what else is there? This hotel is simply exquisite! All white and gold, and filled with beautiful flowers. And guess what? You know that classic Austrian dessert I mentioned? Well, the famous Sachertorte is actually made right here! And yes, I indulgedā€¦in a small slice, of course. I have to maintain this delicate ballerina physique!

Waltzing into Culture

My first full day in Vienna was a true immersion into the cultural richness of the city. In the morning, I had the absolute pleasure of visiting the Hofburg Palace. Imagine this: ornate interiors, imperial treasures, and stunning Habsburg history. After wandering the grand halls, I settled into one of the cafes for a spot of people-watching - the charm of this place is simply unforgettable!

But that was only the start of the day, my darlings! My real treat was an evening at the Vienna State Opera. Now, I can't actually divulge which performance I went to (the secrets of the ballerina!), but the grandeur and the talent were simply breathtaking! I took my usual position ā€“ smack bang in the middle, as always. A pink tutu really cuts through the noise, donā€™t you think?

A Tutu-tastic Time at the Schƶnbrunn Palace

On Thursday, I explored the delightful Schƶnbrunn Palace and its beautiful gardens, the former summer residence of the Habsburg emperors. After the splendour of the interiors and the opulent royal apartments, I wandered into the palace gardens, where I was treated to a fantastic performance of classical music.

But let me tell you, a visit to the Schƶnbrunn Palace wouldnā€™t be complete without a stroll through the stunning gardens, with their breathtaking flower arrangements, topiary creations, and lovely statues. And you know whatā€™s even better than a palace garden? A palace garden in a pink tutu!

Shopping like a Princess!

A girl canā€™t come all this way to Vienna and not shop! So, after my palace excursion, it was off to Viennaā€™s best boutiques and designers. My wardrobe needed a touch of Austrian charm - I did say this was the most gorgeous shopping trip ever, didnā€™t I? The shopping scene in Vienna is really special ā€“ itā€™s elegant, sophisticated, and has something to offer everyone! From bespoke jewelry to handmade designer clothing, thereā€™s something for every princess. And me? I couldnā€™t resist a beautiful, intricately-designed crystal brooch that would match perfectly with a certain pink tutuā€¦

A Night of Enchantment

For the final night of my Austrian adventure, I decided on an unforgettable experience - a Tischlein Deck Dich. This restaurant is like stepping back into another time ā€“ with elegant, rustic interiors and authentic Austrian cuisine. Itā€™s also known for its delicious Kaiserschmarrn, a sweet fluffy pancake dish - I had to try it, and oh my, it was a treat for the senses!

I even discovered some traditional Dirndl - beautiful dresses ā€“ as I was walking around the streets, so I snagged myself a pretty pastel pink one, because, well, what better souvenir for a trip like this? My Pink Tutu Vienna motto truly lives on!

Onward to the Next Tutu-tastic Adventure

After my delightful trip, I boarded a charming little train back to Derbyshire, the vibrant images of Vienna already becoming cherished memories.

But I wonā€™t stay home for long! This little pink-tutu-wearing blogger has a whole world to explore! The world awaits, and I'll be reporting back from my next tutu-tastic adventure. You know you can catch up with all my Pink Tutu shenanigans every Wednesday, here on www.pink-tutu.com!

Until then, keep twirling in your own little pink world, darlings!

Lots of love and tutus,

Emma šŸ’•
