Post #1040: Vienna, My Darling, Vienna! 🌸 🩰

Hello my darling readers, and welcome back to Pink Tutu Vienna! It’s Wednesday, the sun is shining (well, mostly, those pesky Viennese clouds love a good dramatic entrance, eh?), and I’m in a positively pink-tastic mood! This week I’m channeling my inner Empress Sisi and reveling in all the elegant beauty Vienna has to offer.

This, my dears, is what a proper Pink Tutu tour looks like, complete with its own little fairy-tale ending! I landed in this magnificent city by train, naturally – a much more chic and relaxed experience than those pesky aeroplanes. (I refuse to travel anywhere unless I have enough room for a proper tulle explosion). And let me tell you, a train journey through the Austrian countryside is something to behold! Lush green meadows, towering snow-capped mountains, and little wooden houses that could belong in a Hans Christian Andersen story – pure magic!

A Ballet Blitz in the Imperial City

Now, you all know how much I adore a good ballet blitz, and Vienna did not disappoint! It was like stepping right into a fairytale – the opulent palaces, the historic opera houses, even the city itself has a sense of magic swirling around it. And talking of swirling… you'll never guess who I stumbled upon in my exploration!

That’s right, it was none other than the legendary Rudolf Nureyev (or, well, a bronze sculpture of him, naturally). He stood tall and proud in front of the Vienna State Opera, his stance as dramatic as his dancing had been. Just the mere thought of such a master dancing in that building sent shivers down my spine!

I’m actually attending a performance at the Vienna State Opera tonight! This is truly a Pink Tutu dream come true, and I can’t wait to feel the energy of this beautiful building. I’m wearing my very special ruby red tutu that sparkles like the chandeliers themselves!

Exploring the Ballet’s Grand Heritage

After an inspiring morning at the Vienna State Opera, I did what any respectable ballerina would do: I went ballet shopping, of course! Now, if you’re looking for the perfect pink tutu, Vienna is a veritable dreamland! I found myself absolutely besotted by a shop in the Old City, brimming with antique dance shoes, beautiful tulle, and even some vintage tutus, oh my!

Speaking of vintage, I was enthralled to visit the Museum of Music in Vienna. It’s a treasure trove of musical instruments, paintings, and relics, a veritable waltz through the world of music and dance! I was especially captivated by a portrait of Marie Taglioni, the epitome of Romantic ballerina elegance. She made a tutu out of only 150 yards of silk, which was considered positively scandalous in the 19th century! Tutu revolution at its finest!

Riding to Ballet Bliss with a Viennese Charmer

No trip to Vienna is complete without experiencing its traditional horse-drawn carriages. You know I adore animals and I just had to get my Pink Tutu selfie in one, surrounded by the sheer romanticism of a horse-drawn carriage journey through the streets. It was just like something out of a film, complete with a handsome Austrian gentleman as my charioteer!

Vienna truly is a city of elegant contrasts - from the bustling marketplaces to the quiet parks and cobbled streets. It feels like I’ve travelled back in time, but with all the chic and modern charm you could ask for!

Pink Tutu and a Spot of Viennese Charm

Of course, no Pink Tutu adventure is complete without delicious food, and Vienna truly has me spoiled! Vienna has a real foodie scene, filled with amazing restaurants, cafes, and pastries galore! The bakeries here are truly divine. I’ve already indulged in my fair share of Sachertorte, Apfelstrudel, and Viennese coffee - they’re the ultimate combination of sweetness and elegance.

For dinner, I found the most quaint little restaurant that serves authentic Viennese dishes. They even have a beautiful courtyard garden for alfresco dining - I just had to pull out my Pink Tutu, and, let’s just say, it got everyone talking! The owner gave me a complimentary piece of delicious chocolate mousse. The best way to end a perfect day in Vienna!

Looking Forward to More Viennese Delights!

I can't wait to discover more of Vienna's charming squares, its incredible art museums, and those magical street performers who turn the city into a grand ballet stage. Oh, and I’m particularly looking forward to indulging in Vienna’s vibrant fashion scene! (Did you know that tutu design started to explode in popularity in Austria?) I simply have to explore its vintage stores and trendy boutiques - I might just have to treat myself to some elegant Pink Tutu accessories to compliment my current ensemble!

Until next week, my lovelies, keep twirling and spread that Pink Tutu magic everywhere you go! Remember, you can join me on my adventure by following Pink Tutu Vienna on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter!

Until next Wednesday, remember,

Stay Pink, stay fabulous, and let your Pink Tutu dreams take flight!
