Vienna Waltz, Baby! Post #1074

Hello darlings!

It's Wednesday again, which means another exciting blog post from your favourite tutu-wearing traveller! This week, I'm whisking you all away to the beautiful city of Vienna, a place that practically oozes romance and grandeur. And guess what? I even wore a pink tutu here, a beautiful feather boa masterpiece from my dear friend Isabella, that I felt absolutely glorious in. It was positively uber glamorous!

This trip has been all about exploring Vienna's iconic ballet scene and getting lost in its captivating waltz rhythm. Oh, I must tell you, the sheer elegance and passion of Viennese waltz, the way it makes your heart beat just a little bit fasterā€¦ swoon. And of course, what's a trip to Vienna without a stunning ballet show, right? The Vienna State Opera Ballet, darling, absolutely mesmerized me with their performance of The Sleeping Beauty. It was such a gorgeous spectacle, the costumes were exquisite, the dancing was flawless and the music was simply divine! You can see why they say the Viennese love their classical ballet, it really does touch the soul.

A Pink Tutu Dream Come True

You know me, darling, a trip isn't truly complete without a little retail therapy! Now, I must confess, I absolutely fell head-over-heels for Vienna's boutiques. It's like they were designed for someone like me, with their beautiful vintage pieces and stunning modern designs. I actually found the perfect blush-pink ballet-style dress to wear to the opera! Gasp. I couldn't resist the delicate lace and the perfect princess silhouette. Naturally, it looked just perfect with my pink tutu, and, of course, some statement jewellery ā€“ some sparkly rose-gold earrings and a vintage-inspired silver necklace were just the ticket.

Train Journeys, Horse Drawn Carriages and All Things Wonderful

I arrived in Vienna via the most romantic train journey ever! The scenery whizzing by, the feeling of gentle movement... the whole experience felt just magical. But you know, I did try something a bit different this time too! I decided to ride in a horse-drawn carriage. Can you imagine? So delightful! Imagine a horse-drawn carriage, trotting along cobblestone streets, past ornate buildings and lush gardens. Pure fairytale vibes, and you know I'm a huge fan of all things fairytale! I simply had to try it!

Whipping Up a Viennese Feast

Okay, so, you know I can't talk about travel without mentioning the food, can I? Well, let me tell you, the culinary scene in Vienna is just... divine! From traditional Austrian pastries to sophisticated modern cuisine, my taste buds were singing. They simply know how to whip up a good meal!

But oh, let me tell you about this incredible Sachertorte. I may have indulged in a little bit too muchā€¦ letā€™s call it a delightful little lapse of judgement. Giggle. A heavenly mix of chocolate, apricot, and whipped cream... Pure heaven. Now, thatā€™s what I call the perfect travel dessert!

The Heart of Ballet History

I mean, I simply had to visit the Vienna State Opera. Not just to watch a ballet performance but also because this building is literally soaked in history. And ballet history, specifically! The grand, beautiful design, the ornate dĆ©cor, and the stories these walls have to tellā€¦ Simply magical. I even went to their library and browsed through some ancient ballet manuscripts. There were these stunning images of 19th-century dancers in fluffy tulle tutus, just like mine! They looked so graceful, like they were dancing on clouds. It's no wonder Vienna is a paradise for dance lovers!

Tutu Travel Notes

To all my dear readers, if you're thinking of visiting Vienna, do add a pink tutu to your packing list! Believe me, it's a sure-fire way to embrace the fairytale charm of the city! And while you're there, maybe even indulge in some beautiful ballerina-inspired ballet wear? Youā€™d be surprised what treasures you can find in vintage stores, just as I did. The thrill of the hunt is half the fun!

Oh, I almost forgot to tell you about the Vienna Ballet Association, a place that truly supports dancers of all ages and levels. I actually signed up for a ballet class here, and it was simply wonderful! And don't even get me started on the coffee! Vienna is, of course, famous for its coffee culture. It was lovely to take a moment and just enjoy a latte macchiato at a cozy cafe after my class.

Next Stop? Paris, of course!

Now, as I mentioned, this week has been absolutely packed. Between dancing, shopping, and experiencing all the amazing culture this incredible city has to offer, I barely had time to even blink. But my lovelies, this isn't goodbye ā€“ itā€™s just ā€œsee you later!ā€

Next Wednesday, I'll be whisking you all away to Paris. Oh, the romance, the elegance, the beautiful city streetsā€¦ My mind is already buzzing with ideas for Parisian outfit changes, the ballet performances Iā€™ll be seeingā€¦ You know me, I never do anything by half measures, and it'll be tutu-licious in Paris, believe me!

Until then, darling, don't forget to keep twirling, and never ever shy away from embracing your inner pink tutu princess!

XOXO,

Emma
