#PinkTutuVienna: A Whirlwind Waltz in the City of Dreams! (Post #1101)
Wednesday, 8th June 2016
Bonjour, darlings!
Vienna. It's been calling to me for ages, this magnificent city of music, history, and elegance. The birthplace of the Waltz. The home of Mozart, Strauss, and so many other legends. And guess who's finally answering the call? That's right, your favourite pink tutu-clad ballerina!
I arrived in Vienna on a sunny afternoon, the air thick with the aroma of freshly baked strudel. As I stepped off the train, a melodic waltz floated through the streets, almost as if it were welcoming me to this vibrant city.
My journey to Vienna was, of course, made even more magical by the experience of travelling by train. There's something utterly enchanting about chugging through the countryside, seeing rolling hills and quaint villages flash past the window. It's like being transported back in time, which is particularly fitting for Vienna, a city where the echoes of history reverberate through every cobbled street.
As I settled into my little Viennese hotel, it felt as though the pink tutu had already been worn there, a history of twirls and laughter echoing from the polished floorboards. The room was bursting with charm – lace curtains billowing gently in the breeze, a hand-painted floral mural, and, most importantly, a grand cheval mirror to ensure that my every twirl could be admired from all angles.
Speaking of twirling, the Viennese waltz demands attention! It’s a swirling dance of passion and grace, an effortless glide through time, that instantly fills you with joy and transports you to a different world. You just have to give in and allow your heart to be swept away. And I, with my trusty pink tutu, was ready for this whirlwind adventure. After all, isn’t waltzing an inherent part of being a pink tutu-wearing ballerina?
I found myself completely smitten with this city – from the grandeur of Schönbrunn Palace with its enchanting gardens, to the opulence of the Vienna State Opera, a world of music and art. I even had a chance to see the Vienna Philharmonic play! Oh, the orchestra, they were absolutely divine, their music a whirlwind of emotion that carried you away on a tidal wave of sound. It reminded me just how powerful the magic of music can be.
Of course, no trip to Vienna would be complete without indulging in a delicious Viennese pastry. And I, being a true gourmand, could not resist indulging in a selection of delectable Sachertortes, Apfelstrudel, and Wiener Schnitzel. I'm pretty sure my hips had already learnt the Viennese Waltz from the pure deliciousness of it all.
My days in Vienna were a kaleidoscope of delights: ballet classes, where the tutus spun like sugar plum fairies, museum hopping for glimpses of stunning ballet history and exploring charming shops bursting with enchanting pink dresses and tutus! It's almost like my life as a pink tutu ballerina came to fruition here.
Vienna has captured my heart! Its elegant architecture, rich culture, and enchanting waltz music, combined with a delectable feast of pastries, have left me yearning to return. Perhaps one day I'll even waltz onto a Viennese stage myself! But until then, my love affair with Vienna continues, a beautiful and swirling melody that plays on in my heart, waiting for its next graceful turn.

Until next Wednesday, darling! Stay bright and beautiful.
